Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 11.2m beam and a 3.65m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 1,274 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in mid 2009. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in January 2012 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in May 2012.

Exterior Design

Feadship's yacht Vassa is a tri-deck design with a white hull and superstructure. A sharply raked, flared bow leads to a compact foredeck primarily dedicated to operational tasks. Positioned beneath the upper deck's shell-top canopy, guests can relax on a secluded forward-facing sun pad area, offering views over the operational foredeck equipped with essential mast, anchoring, and mooring apparatus, all set on a sleek teak deck.

Extensive glazing and wide walkways lead to the stern, where the main deck aft serves as a hub for socializing. The vessel's sleek profile gently descends to lower the topsides, accentuated by the gradual curvature where the guard rails are featured ensuring unobstructed views from the dining area and main deck salon.

The fixed bathing platform of the Feadship yacht Vassa underwent expansion during a 2019 refit, increasing its size to wrap around the sides of the vessel and extend an additional 1.5m from its original build.  High coamings provide shelter for curved stairways leading to the bathing platform. Additionally, a side-opening door offers access to storage for water toys, personal watercraft, tenders, and a day head. Tenders are launched from hull openings where the sides open upwards and outwards, maximizing space efficiency.

The hull features occasional port holes and at deck level, gunwale openings add feature to the clean lines of the profile.

The expansive sundeck atop the yacht Vassa offers ample lounging opportunities for guests, with generous shading options to accommodate various preferences.  Embracing a neutral color palette of ivory and white, with occasional cushions in toffee brown to provide contrast. Positioned forward, two fixed-wing canopies provide shade over the seating area, offering extraordinary elevated views during passage.

Interior Design

The interior design team at RWD was specifically selected by the experienced owner to craft stylish, contemporary, and elegant interiors throughout the yacht. Employing a warm neutral palette of soft mid-grey, cream, and accents of bronze and gold, the design fosters a welcoming atmosphere. Large squared-off sofas are strategically placed to encourage socializing and accommodate gatherings in warmly lit salons. Full-height windows, fitted within bulwark supports, offer expansive views of the oceanscape. Horizontal wood panels add a distinctive touch to the walls, while artwork is tastefully understated and lighting is discreetly integrated. Subtle nautical touches are found throughout the modern indoor areas, featuring sea shells and artwork in oceanic colors.

On the main deck, the formal dining area features a spacious table complemented by assorted Christian Liaigre Velin benches and individual Christian Liaigre Barbuda lounge chairs, providing comfortable and stylish seating for up to ten guests.

The cabins aboard the yacht exude a smart, clutter-free sophistication, employing dark wood as a backdrop to accentuate the neutral color palette. Warm gold and taupe accents infuse the spaces with a soothing ambiance. Christian Liaigre designs, including the iconic Bocca lamp, are prominently featured, casting a warm glow throughout the cabins, adding to their inviting atmosphere.
