Design & Construction
Designed around a fast displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 9m beam and a 2.3m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 483 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in mid 2018. This was the first yacht built on the 44Alloy E-Motion design. Launched in June 2020 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in August 2020.
Exterior Design
The yacht's profile is streamlined, with a balanced distribution of deck spaces that afford guests ample outdoor living areas. The design integrates fold-out terraces and a transom wall, which, when deployed, expand the beach club area significantly, enhancing the connection between the yacht and the sea.
Access to the yacht is facilitated by a teak-lined passerelle, which, when retracted, aligns perfectly with the aft staircases, maintaining aesthetic continuity. The main salon is accessible through side doors, which can be opened to create an expansive, unified space with the surrounding environment.
Kamakasa's forward section boasts a custom Jacuzzi, set within a sun pad area, offering an uncluttered space for relaxation while providing an unobstructed view from the bow. The sundeck is substantial, equipped with various freestanding furniture options that allow for customization according to guest preferences.
The yacht's design prioritizes both form and function, with practical considerations such as a well-equipped garage for tenders and toys, and a thoughtfully designed beach club that doubles as a fitness area.
Interior Design
The main salon is appointed with a blend of materials that are both functional and visually appealing. An aluminum hull and superstructure set the foundation for a space that is airy and robust. The salon features a professional layout that integrates side access doors to allow for natural light and an open atmosphere. The materials utilized throughout this area include fine woods for vertical millwork and marble accents, adding a touch of sophistication while maintaining a clean and straightforward aesthetic.
Adjacent to the salon, one finds the formal dining area, which is cleverly designed to maximize space while providing a setting suitable for formal occasions. The dining space is equipped with a mirrored surface that discreetly conceals a television.
Kamakasa features an ultra-modern helm station with a selection of advanced navigation and monitoring systems, all housed within a sleek design that includes touchscreens and intuitive controls. The captain's chairs are noteworthy for their design, offering comfort and command in equal measure.
As for the galley, it is a professional-grade culinary space designed to cater to both the crew and guests' needs. The galley is well-equipped with ample refrigeration, freezers, and a dumbwaiter, streamlining service across the yacht's multiple decks. It also includes side access, enabling crew movement without disturbing guests.
Throughout the yacht, the lighting is strategically placed to enhance the ambiance and highlight the yacht's design features. LED strips are embedded within the staircases and woodwork, creating a subtle glow that guides movements between decks.
Accommodation
Kamakasa offers luxurious accommodations for guests, featuring a total of five beautifully appointed cabins. These cabins are designed to provide privacy, comfort, and elegance for up to 10 guests.
The centerpiece of the guest accommodation is the three-level private apartment designated for the owner. The primary bedroom is located three steps down from an office area and is equipped with a king-sized bed, a dressing table, and a TV concealed behind a mirrored panel. The en-suite bathroom boasts a double vanity, separate toilet, and bidet area, as well as an extensive walk-in closet that echoes with spaciousness. The upper level of the owner's suite features a private lounge area with expansive windows offering panoramic views, enhancing the sense of exclusivity and privacy.
The remaining guest quarters are located on the lower deck, comprising four additional cabins that maintain the same high standards of luxury. The VIP staterooms mirror each other, extending the yacht's cohesive design language. Each VIP cabin includes a double vanity in the en-suite, a separate enclosed toilet, and a shower lined with exquisite stone. The third cabin offers a queen bed and maintains the aesthetic of the yacht's interior design. The fourth and fifth cabins are combined into a versatile space featuring a double bed, a single bed, and a Pullman berth, making it an ideal arrangement for children or additional guests. All cabins are equipped with mirrored panels concealing televisions, ensuring that the entertainment needs of guests are met with sophistication.
Kamakasa accommodates up to nine crew members, allowing for efficient and discreet service.
Performance & Capabilities
Kamakasa is propelled by twin MTU 16V M96L engines, each delivering 2,000 horsepower, which translates to a powerful thrust for this vessel. The yacht is capable of reaching a top speed of 20 knots—a noteworthy figure for a yacht of its dimensions. When cruising at a more economical speed of 13 knots, Kamakasa boasts an impressive range exceeding 2,000 nautical miles, providing the capability for extended voyages without frequent refueling stops.
To ensure the stability and comfort of guests, Kamakasa is equipped with stabilizers. These are crucial for minimizing roll motion both at anchor and while underway, substantially improving onboard comfort and safety.
