The multi-award winning 171'8" motor yacht Ark of Fate was delivered to her owners in 2023 by Italian shipyard Baglietto. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Francesco Paszkowski Design, while Baglietto is responsible for her naval architecture.

Design & Construction

Designed around a fast displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 29'4" beam and a 8'5" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 497 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the first yacht built on the T52 design. Launched in February 2023 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of Pachamama 2 is a testament to the collaborative efforts between Francesco Paszkowski Design and Baglietto. The sophistication of the yacht's exterior begins with its sleek, elegant profile. A testament to the timeless beauty of naval architecture, Pachamama 2 is far from ordinary.

The yacht's design incorporates the latest must-haves in the yachting world while avoiding the trend traps that can date a vessel prematurely. Notably, the open-air beach club, a popular feature in contemporary yachting, is seamlessly integrated into the yacht's design. However, enough structure remains aft to maintain a balanced profile. The pool on the aft deck, another feature du jour, measures an impressive 3.7 meters. But instead of dominating the space, the pool floor can be raised when drained, transforming into an extension of the living area.

The designers also took environmental factors into consideration when crafting the exterior design. The yacht's open-air areas are strategically located to be shaded, protecting guests from the risks of excessive sun exposure. The upper deck features a "pergola" with a solid roof and three retractable glass sides that form an interior-exterior hybrid space. This thoughtful design provides an enclosed, protected area that can be opened up to enjoy the fresh sea air.

The outdoor spaces of Pachamama 2 are equally impressive. The sundeck, with its 135 square meters of space, is well configured with a bar, integrated TV, sofa seating, and a glass-fronted dip pool flanked by sunpads. A unique set of steps provides a direct connection to the foredeck seating area, further enhancing the yacht's overall design.

Interior Design

The interior design of Pachamama 2 is a testament to understated elegance, a perfect blend of comfort and luxury that mirrors the streamlined design of the yacht's exterior. The primary goal of the design team, led by Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini, was to create an environment that accentuates the feeling of being at sea, rather than transforming the yacht into a floating home.

The heart of Pachamama 2's interior is the main saloon, where the designers have masterfully balanced light and space. Large windows allow natural light to flood in, augmenting the sense of airiness and openness. A skylight running through the sundeck and upper deck lets the sun's rays slip in, creating a subtle interplay of light and shadow throughout the day. The furniture, provided by Fendi Casa, features a neutral palette that enhances the calm and serene atmosphere. The 'Shanghai cream' main saloon furniture works in harmony with Fontana Arte lighting to create a space that is both inviting and stylish.

The designers have chosen materials that echo the maritime theme while adding a touch of sophistication. Milky-toned leather covers the wall columns and staircase, blending seamlessly with the oak flooring. The staircase features a special ivory-colored stone, a mix of natural and artificial resin that not only adds a touch of luxury but also ensures durability and practicality. The burnished metal accents provide a contrast to the predominantly matte finishes, adding depth and interest to the interior design.

Botticino marble, in a soft oyster color, clads the en-suites, adding a touch of opulence. The main saloon hosts a plush Fendi Casa sofa and armchair, inviting guests to sink in and relax.

The designers have also paid close attention to the outdoor spaces, ensuring they can be enjoyed regardless of the weather. The upper deck features a 'pergola' with a solid roof and three glass sides that can be fully retracted. This creates a hybrid indoor/outdoor space that offers panoramic views of the surroundings without sacrificing comfort.

Pachamama 2's interiors are replete with thoughtful details that enhance the overall design. For instance, some of the teak on the walls is carved into decorative points, casting dramatic shadows under the glow of spotlights. Such details, though not immediately noticeable, contribute to creating an atmosphere of refined luxury.

Accommodation

The Pachamama 2 can comfortably accommodate 12 guests in 5 suites, offering spacious and well-designed cabins. Each cabin is meticulously designed to ensure a luxurious and comfortable stay. The vast windows in the owner's cabin, allow natural light to flood into the spaces, creating an airy and bright atmosphere. This element of design ensures that occupants are constantly reminded of their sea surroundings, reinforcing the essence of a true sea voyage.  The forward two guest cabins have Pullman berths for flexibility.

She is also capable of carrying up to 9 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Performance & Capabilities

At the heart of Pachamama 2's powertrain is the hybrid package which includes twin 16V 2000 M86 2,000-horsepower MTU engines propelling her to a top speed of 17 knots, and comfortably cruises at 11 knots. With her 68,920 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,800 nautical miles at 11 knots.

This cutting-edge hybrid system allows the yacht to seamlessly switch between different modes of operation, including full electric, diesel-electric and traditional diesel modes. Not only does this lead to increased fuel efficiency and reduced emissions, but it also contributes to a smoother, quieter cruising experience.

In full electric mode, the yacht can sit at anchor for up to 12 hours using batteries alone for hotel loads or cruise for 3.5 hours under battery power. When one genset is activated in diesel-electric mode, she can travel almost 8,000 nautical miles at a slow and steady six knots. This vast range combined with the yacht's impressive speed capabilities sets the Pachamama 2 apart as a true long-distance cruiser.

The controls for this advanced hybrid system are located in a spaceship-style wheelhouse, which features glass windows forming a full 180-degree crescent and is flanked by three solid 85-centimeter-high touchscreens. This modern, technologically advanced setup ensures easy and efficient operation of the yacht's mechanical systems and contributes to the overall smooth sailing experience.

The yacht's impressive range and speed capabilities make it a true long-distance cruiser, while its state-of-the-art control systems and stabilizers contribute to a comfortable and stable ride.
