Design & Construction

Designed around an aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 11.51m beam and a 9.73m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 496 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in mid 2007 with the keel laid under the project name 'Kaplankaya'. This was the eighth yacht built on the 56m Series design. Launched in November 2009 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in February 2010.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of Panthalassa features a striking combination of colors and materials that offer both aesthetic appeal and functionality. The deck is constructed from durable teak, providing a classic and hard-wearing surface that withstands the rigors of marine environments. The hull is painted in a sleek black, which not only adds to the yacht's visual impact but also helps in maintaining the structure's integrity below the waterline, where it continues with the same black finish.

The superstructure contrasts sharply with the hull, showcasing a clean and modern white color. This creates a visually balanced profile that is both contemporary and timeless. The choice of materials and color scheme is deliberate, ensuring that Panthalassa stands out on the water while maintaining a sense of refined elegance. The design choices made for the exterior are practical yet refined, aligning with the yacht's overall purpose and performance expectations.

The fly deck, a social hub for guests, is graced with ample seating and lounging areas, providing a luxurious vantage point from which to admire the surrounding vistas. The yacht’s defining circular motifs are echoed here as well, as seen in the large circular skylight that doubles as a glass-topped coffee table, an innovative design choice that allows for natural light to flood the space below while serving a practical purpose on deck.

Panthalassea’s aft deck, with its generous space and elegant arrangement, is designed to facilitate effortless indoor-outdoor living. The seamless transition between the interior saloon and the aft deck invites guests to indulge in the open air with ease. Whether hosting formal gatherings or enjoying casual relaxation, the intelligent layout ensures that every moment on board is an experience in ultimate comfort and luxury.

Interior Design

The main saloon features a striking elliptical open-tread timber staircase that creates a central sculptural feature. This artistic staircase not only functions as a connector of spaces but also as a translucent screen, subtly hinting at the activity beyond.

Continuing the theme of spaciousness, the saloon boasts cantilevered sofas and a bar. By elevating these elements, the design team has cleverly increased the visual floor area across the yacht's impressive beam, enhancing the overall sense of openness. The bespoke furnishings, including an elliptical coffee table and a pair of lounge chairs, are meticulously curated to complement the yacht's aesthetic.

Moving beyond the saloon, the dining area can seamlessly transition from a formal dining space to a conference room, cinema, or spa, thanks to the design of a central circular table that can rise, fall, and even be covered to become a massage table. This multi-functional area is enclosed by curved glass doors, providing a serene, circular enclosure that is both practical and visually stunning—an ideal setup for the modern needs of remote work and relaxation.

The deliberate choice of a limited palette—timber, leather, white lacquer, and black marble with a subtle red vein—creates a cohesive and refined interior. The luxurious black marble in the bathrooms, selected for its exquisite red veining, adds depth and warmth, counterbalancing the yacht's predominantly dark hues.

Accommodation

Panthalassea features accommodation for up to 12 guests in six cabins. Instead of a single master suite, the yacht offers cabins of similar dimensions, ensuring every guest feels the embrace of exclusivity. The guest cabins feature a consistent aesthetic of tan saddle leather, a material that graces the beds, bedheads, and chaise longues. The cabins' writing desks are a fluid extension of this design, seamlessly transitioning into the chaise longues, further enhancing the sense of continuity and space.

The cabins are also equipped with state-of-the-art technology that allows guests to transform the transparency of the glass in the bathrooms at the touch of a button. The bathrooms themselves feature teak surfaces that perfectly match the leather's hue, alongside exquisite black marble with subtle red veining.

Panthalassea is also capable of carrying up to 10 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C 32) 12-cylinder 1,239hp engines running at 2200rpm, motor yacht Panthalassa is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 53,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,600 nautical miles at 12 knots.

Amenities

A gym with all the latest equipment allows her guests to keep their workout routines while at sea. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort.
