Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 45'3" beam and a 12'10" draft. The yacht is built over 5 decks with an internal volume of 2,899 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in mid 2011 with the keel laid under the project name 'Project Niki'. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in June 2013 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in November 2013.

Exterior Design

The exterior of Solandge is an innovative blend of gracious, soft shapes and assertive hard lines. These opposing yet complementary languages generate energy and create a unique look that is undeniably captivating. The curves are primarily in the longitudinal planes, with the hard edges appearing on the transverse, creating a fascinating interplay of shapes and lines.

The exterior paint scheme, especially the white sheer line, adds emphasis and contributes to the yacht's striking visual impact. In combination with the white boot stripe, it visually lowers the yacht's substantial freeboard at the transom, making it less formidable to swimmers or those boarding from a tender.

The design brief for Solandge included the creation of numerous areas for guests and family to relax together or enjoy solitary moments. Each deck and space was designed with a distinct function in mind, resulting in a variety of settings such as bars, dining areas, a pool, and two hot tubs. With so much space available, the design also includes an exterior cinema and nightclub, indoor/outdoor gym, a sheltered main deck reception area, and a private outdoor seating area forward of the owners' suite.

The aft deck of Solandge features a broad, cascading staircase that extends down to the bathing platform and into the sea, inviting guests to indulge in the pleasures of ocean living. The stern platform is so expansive that loungers can be set on it, a testament to the thoughtful design that prioritizes comfort and relaxation.

The hot tubs on board Solandge are not just functional amenities, but also aesthetic features. They are mosaic-clad infinity spa baths mounted above deck level, with water flowing over the top edge into a recess below teak grating. This design ensures that the hot tub and its surround do not obstruct the view.

The top deck of Solandge is the epitome of luxury entertainment. It features a dedicated DJ station, a horseshoe-shaped bar with a gold mosaic finish, and a romantic bed-sized platform piled high with cushions under a twinkling star. When in full entertainment mode, the deck can host up to 60 people, offering a unique dance floor above the hot tub.

Interior Design

The main salon, a grandiose space, is accentuated by two walls of backlit amethyst, casting an enchanting glow that sets a magical ambiance. This opulence is complemented by the presence of a Bechstein piano, harmonizing classical sophistication with a source of melodic entertainment.

Rodriguez's vision for the interior is a symphony of rare materials and bespoke craftsmanship. Honey onyx stone borders the wooden floors, while the ceilings, embellished in gold leaf, add a celestial touch to the yacht's interior tapestry. Schonbek chandeliers, adorned with amethyst and rose quartz crystals, are not merely sources of light but jewels that grace the yacht's spaces.

The staterooms aboard Solandge are nearly equal in their breathtaking beauty to the owner's suite, with a design philosophy rooted in individuality—each one distinguished by a prime color, ranging from serene blues to regal purples and radiant golds. The VIP suite, a pinnacle of luxury with gold onyx and mother-of-pearl inlays, offers a versatile layout that can transform into two separate cabins.

The owner's deck is a private sanctuary with an array of comforts and luxuries, including a personal office, his-and-her bathrooms and dressing rooms, and a bedroom with a panoramic 180° view. Italian handcrafted furniture and hand-painted backlit window mullions depicting themes from the Garden of Eden showcase the meticulous attention to detail and thematic consistency throughout the yacht.

The owner’s lounge, adorned with a fireplace and a nautical theme, mirrors the sky lounge's color palette and features unique built-in bookcases, canvases, and a striking cupola of bronze and crystals. Moreover, the owner's deck extends the luxury with a private spa pool, outdoor dining al fresco, and a bar.

The bridge deck is a convergence of wellness and leisure, housing a sauna, steam room, massage room, beauty salon, and gym, all leading out to an inviting swimming pool. Beyond the walls of Solandge, guests are treated to Michelin-star caliber cuisine, prepared with the finest ingredients by one of the world's most highly trained chefs.

From the main entrance, the "Tree of Life" sculpture captures the imagination, while the top deck transforms into a vibrant nightclub under the stars, complete with a professional lighting system and a DJ console.

Accommodation

Solandge can accommodate up to 16 guests comfortably. An additional guest cabin is a full-beam VIP, accentuating the focus on luxury and comfort. The yacht features spacious guest suites on the main deck, each showcasing a different colour scheme to create a vibrant atmosphere. One of the rooms is convertible to a guest office/media centre, demonstrating the yacht's versatility.

The VIP suite at the end of the corridor can be transformed from a bedroom with an attached sitting room into two separate cabins. Each half of this suite makes a spacious cabin, but together, with their large windows, storage space, and en suites, they form a larger suite that could serve as the master suite.

The master suite on the deck above is truly astounding. The owners' deck apartment includes a private office, his-and-hers dressing rooms, and en suites, a bedroom with 180-degree views over the bow, outdoor seating, and a spa bath. A casual sitting room aft has a fireplace and a nautical theme, making it a perfect place for relaxation and leisure.

The Solandge also offers ample crew accommodation, with pathways throughout the yacht to ensure the crew of 29 can move around efficiently. The owners' respect for their crew is evident in the yacht's design, with features such as crew passage access from both levels of the engine room. This thoughtful design enhances efficiency and eliminates traffic jams, significantly improving the crew's work experience onboard the yacht.

Performance & Capabilities

Solandge is powered by twin Caterpillar 3516 engines, each capable of generating 2000kW of power. This formidable engine setup allows her to reach a top speed of 17.5 knots and cruise comfortably at 15 knots. Despite her impressive size and power, the Solandge maintains exceptional stability and smooth sailing, thanks to her Quantum XT zero-speed stabilizers. These advanced stabilizers ensure that guests enjoy the most comfortable and enjoyable yachting experience possible, regardless of sea conditions.

Solandge also boasts an impressive range of 6,000 nautical miles when cruising at 12 knots, making her capable of undertaking long voyages across the oceans. This impressive range ensures that whether you want to explore the Mediterranean or cruise the Caribbean, the Solandge can take you there in unparalleled luxury and comfort.

Solandge also features a state-of-the-art mechanical system that enhances her performance and functionality. Her hull and superstructure are constructed from steel and aluminum, respectively, ensuring durability and lightweight performance. The Solandge's advanced mechanical capabilities also extend to her onboard systems. For instance, her air conditioning system is designed to maintain an optimal internal environment, regardless of external conditions.

Solandge is fitted with a pair of Schottel SPJ 82 pump jets, providing superior steering capabilities. This makes navigating through tight spaces or docking in small marinas an effortless task.
