Sunrays is an award winning 85.5m motor yacht delivered by Dutch shipyard Oceanco in 2010. The yacht's elegant exterior design is by Bjorn Johansson, while her interiors are the work of Terence Disdale.

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 13.8m beam and a 3.95m draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 2,867 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.

Exterior Design

Sunrays features a distinctive teal exterior, with a softly curved teal-colored aluminum superstructure crafted by Bjorn Johansson, complementing the robust steel hull. Teak-laid decks add to the vessel's aesthetic appeal, while the helicopter shares a similar color scheme with the yacht, showcasing a thoughtful design approach throughout.

Yacht Sunrays offers an array of amenities, including three jacuzzis, a spacious jacuzzi pool, and a sophisticated spa salon complete with a steam room. On the bridge deck, the dedicated spa and treatment room boasts the services of two skilled spa therapists. The sundeck hosts a fully-equipped gym, with panoramic views and features a range of exercise options, such as a bike, treadmill, and weight station.

The yacht features zero-speed stabilizers for comfort underway, and an elevator for easy access between decks. Moreover, it provides the convenience of a touch-and-go helipad on the bow for easy transfers. 

M/Y Sunrays boasts a robust steel hull with a teal aluminum superstructure, designed for elegance and performance.

Interior Design

Terence Disdale is a renowned interior designer known for his exceptional work in the luxury yacht industry. His work on Sunrays maintains his signature approach of creating effortlessly sophisticated designs that radiate a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. Employing muted tones in the main salon, Disdale integrates natural elements such as leather, wood, and silk to establish an ambiance of tranquility, while the use of eggshell finishes ensures an interplay of light, connecting the interior with the outside environment.  The salon features a grand piano where guests can unwind listening to music perfectly curated for their mood. 

Throughout his 50-year career, Disdale has won over 40 prestigious international awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award at the ShowBoats Design Awards in 2014. His distinctive fusion of Eastern and Western design influences is prominently showcased throughout the interiors of Sunrays.

With a focus on delivering exceptional leisure and entertainment facilities, Sunrays ensures that all guests have access to every amenity and luxury during their stay. The versatile lounge seamlessly transforms into a private cinema, while the innovative 22-seater dining table effortlessly converts into a pool table. Guests can also revel in evening festivities on the yacht's music deck, which features a high-quality DJ and speaker system.

Onboard, one of the innovative features is a dining table that ingeniously transforms into a gyroscopic self-leveling pool table. Furthermore, the expansive dining room that can seat 22 people, can be seamlessly converted into a professional video conference room as required.

Accommodation

Yacht Sunrays provides accommodation for up to 12 guests in nine suites. VIP suites, two double cabins, and two twin cabins are situated on the main deck, and notably many of them can be connected to suit young families. 

The owner's suite and one adjoining VIP cabin are located on the upper deck along with a whirlpool spa pool balcony and sunbathing area. A fold-down balcony and study can be transformed into a large living area.

The yacht carries up to 30 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience for the guests and the operational effectiveness of the yacht. 

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V595 TE70) 4,680hp engines, motor yacht Sunrays is capable of reaching a top speed of 20 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots. With her 287,600 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 7,850 nautical miles at an economic speed of 12 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.

M/Y Sunrays features nine luxurious suites, a convertible cinema lounge, and three jacuzzis for ultimate relaxation.

Tenders

Among its impressive array of tenders and toys, the yacht includes a 14.9m Windy 52 Blackbird Chase Boat, a Jet Surf GP100, and a Schiller water bike. Additionally, the vessel provides an extensive selection of water toys, such as sea bobs, kayaks, paddleboards, wakeboards, an inflatable waterslide, and diving equipment.
