Design & Construction

Designed around a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 30'9" beam and a 9'7" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 853 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of V2V features a clipper bow, recognized for its sharp and elongated shape. The deck is constructed from high-quality teak, providing durability and a classic appearance. The hull is painted in dark blue, contrasting with the white superstructure. The boot top is also white, adding a clean line of separation between the hull and the superstructure. Below the waterline, the antifoul color is black, which helps in preventing marine growth.

The fore deck is long and uncluttered, and there is no foremast to interrupt the visual flow. Instead, a frame suspended on wires carries the forward navigation light. The sheer line of the hull sweeps aft without interruption, ending in a cockpit that ensures the stern is as clean and simple as the bow, with no visible technical equipment.

The front of the superstructure curves around in plan view and does not lean backwards. Large expanses of curved glass were not possible when V2V was built, so the front of the superstructure is formed from numerous small panes of glass set in a metal grille, creating the impression of a continuous curve. This design detail remains largely intact.

The wheelhouse windows are set back into the structure and are sheltered by a brow, which acts like the peak of a cap. These windows slope slightly forward, providing space for a walkway that curves around the front of the wheelhouse.
