122m superyacht goes up for auction with no reserve set

Former passenger ship Project Y910 is set to be ready for delivery in 18 months and will be available to bid on as part of an online auction running from 11 to 23 November.

One of the world’s largest superyachts is to be sold at auction next month, with no reserve price set for the mammoth yacht.

At 122m (400ft) Project Y910 will be one of the 30 largest superyachts in the world when conversion work for the former passenger ship is completed. With a large amount of the work done, she is expected to be ready for delivery in 18 months. The online auction will open on November 11, with bidding running through until November 23.

Project Y910 began life as passenger ship 'Vladimir Chivilikhin' in 1990 and was used by the Russian offshore industry until 1998. At this time she was ‘only’ 90m (295ft) until work in 2000 saw her length increased to her current size.

The 6,000GT superyacht offers 2,500 square meters (27,000 sq. ft) of living space and accommodation for 36 guests in 18 cabins. An animation released shows large swimming pools, several tender bays and a hot tub perched on her eighth deck. The yacht also has two helipads and a helicopter hangar.

Fully SOLAS compliant and with an ice-classed hull, Project Y910 has a vast 10,000nm range at a speed of 14 knots.

Project Y910 has also been designed with a number of eco-friendly elements, including a fuel-efficient hull shape, advanced water treatment and waste heat recovery systems and a hybrid propulsion engine.

The conversion project is underway at the Fincantieri shipyard in Trieste, Italy with the hull and superstructure near completion. The interiors can be completely customized to the new owner’s wishes.

The list of the world’s largest superyachts by length is headed by Lurssen’s 180.65m (592.6ft) superyacht AZZAM. At 122m (400ft) Project Y910 will be comfortably in the 30 largest superyachts on the seas upon delivery.
