Fairline’s new Squadron 58 set to make waves

The new model will be the first yacht from Fairline to come with a beach club option and embraces the classic Squadron look.

Fairline has released details of its new Squadron 58 model, which comes with some notable firsts for the British yard.

The 17.67m (58ft) flybridge yacht features what the yard is describing as a “completely new design” and comes just a couple of weeks after it announced it was building its first sports bridge yacht, the 20m (65ft) Phantom 65.

The Squadron 58 ushers in some more firsts for the yard, it comes with a beach club option and the cockpit and salon are separated by an angled patio door so the flybridge staircase does not encroach into either the cockpit or interior space.

Style-wise the exterior design embraces the iconic Squadron look, with a triple-fin detail incorporated into the superstructure aft quarters. The new beach club comes with hydraulic fold-down balconies on both port and starboard sides and modular seating that allows for a bespoke arrangement. The bathing platform can also be used to hold a tender and remotely extends to double its length.

Inside the salon oozes with natural light and comes with an array of comfortable seating options, and there is additional socializing and sunbathing space on the foredeck. The flybridge comes complete with a spacious sun pad aft, a wet bar, lots of seating and a hardtop with a sunroof and wrap-around glazing for uninterrupted views.

Below deck there are three cabins, a large mid-master cabin, a similarly roomy forward VIP cabin and a twin cabin. Twin Volvo D13-900 shaft drive engines will provide power with a Volvo D13-1000 upgrade available.

Fairline’s Chief Executive Officer, Paul Grys, expressed his excitement at the news: “Having recently announced the launch of the Phantom 65 alongside multiple new dealer appointments around the world, the Squadron 58 comes at an exciting time for Fairline, with it marking a major step in our new model development program” he said. “We have designed this yacht to offer our customers the ultimate connection with the water utilizing a range of new innovations and technologies unique to Fairline.”

The Squadron 58 will replace the outgoing Squadron 53 and is scheduled to hit the water in November this year, and make its official debut at Boot Dusseldorf in January 2023. It will follow a few months behind the Phantom 65 which is due to launch this summer and is expected to make its public debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
