Oceanco takes center stage at the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) with the unveiling of their SIMPLY CUSTOM platform and latest PROJECT VOLARE. While the Dutch yacht builder garners attention at their press conference, we take a closer look at five Oceanco superyachts that are currently in Monaco.
The two Oceanco yachts for sale at the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show, with a combined expected sales value of $270 million, are available for viewing with an appointment at Quai Rainier III. The longest Oceanco yacht in the show is motor yacht DAR, the 90m (295ft) 2018 build underwent a comprehensive refit this year to prepare the yacht for sale.
Motor yacht DAR has earned numerous prestigious awards, including:
- Motor Yacht of the Year at the 2019 World Superyacht Awards.
- Displacement Motor Yachts 2,000 GT and above at the 2019 World Superyacht Awards.
- Judges’ Commendation for Best Technical Achievement at the 2019 Boat International Design & Innovation Awards.
- The Exterior Design Award and Finest New Yacht of the MYS at the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show awards.
- Yacht of the Year at the 2018 World Yachts Trophies.
DAR was also a finalist in several categories for design, lifestyle features, and general arrangement across various awards.
The 63m Oceanco yacht QUEEN MAVIA is currently for sale with an asking price of $38,860,000. Originally built in 2001, the yacht underwent an extensive refit in 2022. As of now, it has been on the superyacht market for 108 days and is available for viewing with Fraser Yachts at berth R08.
Anchored in the Bay of Monaco, three Oceanco yachts are available for viewing. Two are for sale and charter, while the motor yacht ALFA G is available exclusively for luxury charter.
The two superyachts for sale have a combined value of $104 million, with an average price of $52.1 million. The longest, AALTO, is an 80m superyacht built in 2007 and refitted in 2019. Designed by Nuvolari Lenard, with interiors by Alberto Pinto, AALTO was the first of Oceanco's 700-series, marking a new era for the shipyard. Upon launch, it won Best Full Displacement Motor Yacht (over 56m) at the ShowBoats Awards 2007.
At anchor and for sale at $15,310,000, the 52.8m Oceanco yacht FRIENDSHIP was built in 2000 and refitted earlier this year in preparation for sale or charter. On the market for 199 days at the time of writing, FRIENDSHIP is an award-winning yacht, having earned the ShowBoats Awards 2000 for Highest Technical Achievement.
This yacht marked a pivotal moment for Oceanco, being the first yacht they completed for a specific owner rather than on speculation. The original owner was so impressed that they spent half the year aboard the yacht for the next 11 years, traveling extensively.
In the lead-up to the Monaco Yacht Show, Oceanco's yacht H3 was listed as attending but pulled out just 24 hours before the event's opening. In a last-minute twist, the Lürssen yacht GOLDEN ODYSSEY took its place, causing a stir in the yachting world.
GOLDEN ODYSSEY became the largest yacht ever to attend the show, eclipsing the Freire Shipyard yacht RENAISSANCE, which was previously announced as the largest yacht by volume. With a gross tonnage (GT) of 7,690, GOLDEN ODYSSEY surpassed RENAISSANCE's 7,200 GT, altering the show's dynamics just before it began.
Oceanco has nine yachts in the YB100 list of the world's biggest yachts.
YachtBuyer Superyacht Intelligence notes the Yacht H3 is for sale with an asking price of $295,000,000. The yacht has been on the superyacht sales market for 91 days at the time of writing.
