TWINS concept combines ice-class explorer with stylish 70m support vessel

Penned in partnership with Gill Schmid Design and Dörries Yachts, TWINS is a design concept that pairs two 70m (230ft) yachts for the ultimate in luxury and freedom.

The luxury and comfort of a superyacht and the world-class exploration capabilities of an explorer yacht have been packaged together in a collaborative design project by Gill Schmid Design and Dörries Yachts.

The aptly named TWINS concept pairs a 70m (220ft) mothership with a 70m ice-class support vessel. Whilst they both share the same design language and have sleek silhouettes with sharp, clean lines each vessel has its own truly defined role. The mothership is a haven for fun and relaxation and the support vessel is stocked with facilities and equipment to serve its twin.

The mothership features a formal dining room, a show kitchen, cinema, piano bar and after dinner lounge. For those who like to keep fit there is a supersized gym and a spa, sauna, massage area and steam room for the ultimate in relaxation.

There are numerous outdoor lounge areas, a pool and bar, beach club, alfresco dining spots aplenty and even an open-air sushi bar.

Up to 12 guests can be accommodated across six suites on the mothership, including a huge Owner’s suite with private deck and outdoor Jacuzzi.

This leaves the support vessel the home for up to 23 crew members. It also features an ‘ocean farm with fish tanks and hydroponics’ to quickly and easily deliver delicious food to the mothership.

As well as being packed with tenders and toys, the support vessel has space for a helicopter to land and be stowed away.

With both yachts being built on the same platform it means there is a level of interchangeability that reduces the build time and the build cost. Dörries Yachts are the chosen builder for the project.
