New Zealand, Auckland-based superyacht builder Yachting Developments is preparing to launch its latest creation, a 34.9m (114ft) custom-built carbon fiber sportsfisher.
Designed by Warwick Yacht Design, the superyacht features proportional exterior styling and an open-plan interior layout, accommodating up to 10 guests in four cabins, plus dedicated crew quarters aft of the main engine room. The deck includes a large mezzanine cockpit above the fighting cockpit, providing an elevated outdoor vantage point for guests to watch the action.
The fully enclosed, air-conditioned flybridge offers excellent visibility through 25mm thick laminated toughened glazing. State-of-the-art stabilizers and mega-size vertical interceptor trim tabs ensure a comfortable and efficient ride at sea.
Designed for extended periods at sea, the superyacht is equipped with twin generators, twin water makers, salted ice makers, freshwater ice makers, large catch chillers, and a live bait tank that almost looks like a small swimming pool.
Rolls Royce-MTU built the V16 high-performance engines specifically for this project, each delivering 2,600hp, enabling a cruising speed exceeding 20 knots. The propulsion system is supported by a fuel capacity of 24,000 liters and the capability to refuel while at sea.
A 72hp bow thruster and a 57hp stern thruster enable the sportsfisher to maneuver into tight locations. Propeller tunnels incorporated into the hull allow the large-diameter propellers and shafts to be positioned snugly, keeping the draft down to 1.9m (6ft), and enabling the superyacht to reach shallower areas.
