A jury made up of representatives from some of the leading European motorboat publications shortlists the nominees each September and then vote on the final winners in November.

Magazine publications forming the judging panel include Båtmagasinet (Norway), BoatMag (Italy), BOOTE (Germany), Motorboot (Netherlands), MoteurBoat (France), Nautica y Yates (Spain), Neptune (France), Marina CH (Switzerland) and last but not least Yachtrevue (Austria).

Following the final vote to establish the winners, awards are presented on Flagship Night, the opening industry gala event in conjunction with Boot Dusseldorf.
