Key Features

  • Multi-functional deck areas with Jacuzzi
  • Classically-inspired mahogany interior design
  • Stern garage for tender storage
  • Full beam master suite

Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.1m beam and a 2.6m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 496 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.

This was the second yacht built on the Golden Bay Series design.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of Akira One is defined by its raked bow, providing a sleek and dynamic profile. The vessel's hull is painted in a pristine white, complemented by a matching white superstructure. This consistent color scheme is accented by a black boot top and antifoul, which not only enhance the visual appeal but also serve practical purposes. The decks are crafted from teak, offering durability and a classic nautical appearance.

The tender is stored in a stern garage, which clears the main decks and simplifies the launch process, even in rough waters. This setup also protects the tender from environmental elements and allows for easier maintenance. The additional deck space is a significant benefit, with the primary outdoor living area being a 20-meter-long sun deck. This space is divided into three levels: the aft section with sun loungers and umbrellas, a central shaded area with a circular table, bar, barbecue facilities, and a large Jacuzzi spa pool, and a forward section that can serve as a sun cushion, dance deck, or emergency helipad.

The bridge deck aft offers a formal alfresco dining area, featuring a 12-seater table and additional seating around the aft rail. This deck is shaded by the sun deck overhang and can be further protected with a canvas awning.

The main deck aft serves as a reception area and a quiet spot for breakfast or coffee, especially when boarding via the bathing platform. When the yacht is docked stern-to or underway, an additional seating area forward of the bridge becomes useful, utilizing what is often wasted space on many motor yachts.

Interior Design

The interior design of Akira One reflects a balance of traditional craftsmanship and practical functionality. The design features a classically-inspired mahogany interior, embellished with sophisticated details such as dentile cornices, roped dado rails, and fluted pillars. Cream deckheads and carpets have been chosen to lighten the ambiance and provide contrast to the rich woodwork. In the lower decks, the mahogany panels give way to pale silk fabrics, adding a touch of understated elegance.

The main saloon is the primary setting for formal entertainment. It is furnished with elegant chesterfield settees upholstered in gold fabric and features four pyramid-shaped display cabinets. The layout includes a bar, multiple seating areas, and an electric fireplace. This arrangement allows for various groups to converse simultaneously in a comfortable and inviting environment.

The dining salon is located next to the main saloon and features a 12-seater glass-topped table edged in mahogany. An exquisite crystal chandelier hangs above the table, with individual facets joined by wire to prevent damage when the yacht is underway.

Moving to the upper deck, the upper saloon offers a more informal setting. The sofas are designed for comfort, and a bar is prominently placed for easy access. This area also includes a large drop-down screen and a deckhead-mounted projector, making it suitable for movie nights or presentations.

Accommodation

Akira One is designed to host up to 12 guests in six en suite cabins. The master suite is located on the main deck and spans the full beam of the yacht. It includes an emperor-sized bed with an upholstered headboard. The suite is entered through a private study and includes twin dressing rooms, each equipped with glass-fronted shirt drawers, shoe lockers, and a walk-in wardrobe. The en-suite bathroom is finished in finely cut marble and features a circular spa pool, separate wash basins, dressing tables, a head compartment, and a steam shower.

On the lower deck, there are four additional guest cabins. Two of these are double cabins with private bathrooms, while the other two are twin cabins with adjoining shower rooms. Each cabin is designed with a distinctive color scheme and provides ample drawer and wardrobe space, ensuring guests can store their belongings comfortably.

Forward of the guest staterooms on the lower deck, the crew quarters include four twin cabins and a double cabin for the chief engineer, all with en-suite shower rooms. The crew area also features a crew mess, a walk-in refrigerator and freezer, and a laundry room with twin washers and dryers. Crew movement is facilitated by a private stairway that connects all decks, ensuring that guests' privacy is maintained at all times.
