The 50m motor yacht Koru was delivered to her owners in 1983 by Dutch shipyard Feadship. Her interior design and exterior styling comes from the drawing boards of Bannenberg & Rowell, while De Voogt is responsible for her naval architecture.

- Glass-roofed solarium
- Original retro 1980s interior decoration
- Split-level master suite
- Striking angular appearance
Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 8.4m beam and a 2.5m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 435 GT (Gross Tonnes).
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
Following an extensive rebuild spanning from 2022 to 2024, this classic Feadship has been restored to its former glory, exuding a striking appearance reminiscent of its heyday. Originally christened Azteca, the yacht was the visionary design of Jon Bannenberg, whose influence extended to later vessels like the 74.5m Blohm and Voss yacht Zeus (formerly Eco), both owned by the same media mogul.
Notably ahead of its time, the yacht's design features such as the glass-roofed solarium on the top deck and the forward-facing observation saloon set a precedent in the 1980s, inspiring similar innovations in other superyachts. The refurbishment saw a departure from its original white hull and superstructure, now boasting a striking dark blue hull courtesy of the Aykin Marina & Shipyard, accentuating the Feadship's sleek lines and profile.
Enhancements include a 3.2m extension to the stern, alongside the addition of a new sundeck and transom. The yacht's design embodies a sense of dynamic forward motion, with its raked bow, bold white bootstrap, and prominent strake accentuating its streamlined silhouette. A white line traces the flow of the upper deck, complementing the vertical glazing of the main deck. The bridge deck stands out with its smart and forward-facing design, featuring vertical glazing, a sun deck above, and a vertical radar mast.
