Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 11.29m beam and a 3.35m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 1,102 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.

Exterior Design

The yacht's hull is finished in a classic white, with a distinctive navy blue band accentuating the waterline, delivering a crisp, classic nautical appearance. The superstructure is similarly painted, maintaining a coherent visual theme throughout. Large windows punctuate the yacht's exterior, offering panoramic views to those inside and allowing natural light to flood the interior spaces.

On the bridge deck, the tender storage solution is a practical feature. By housing tenders on the bridge deck, Blue Moon maximizes interior volume and deck space for guest use. This strategic placement also ensures safe and efficient launch and retrieval operations.

The aft deck offers a spacious area for relaxation close to the water, with furnishings that encourage social interaction in a casual setting. The upper deck dining area provides a sheltered environment for al fresco meals, with the added functionality of retractable panels for protection against the elements.

The top deck features an enclosed terrace adjacent to a Jacuzzi, providing a private and protected spot for guests to enjoy the sights and sounds of the surrounding seascape. The side decks are notably wide, enhancing the yacht’s accessibility and ease of movement for all guests, including those with mobility needs.

Blue Moon's engineering prowess is subtly hinted at through the design of her stern, where jet skis and other technical equipment are stored with precision.

Interior Design

The lobby area on Blue Moon sets a sophisticated tone with its fresh and inviting decor. A central elevator provides easy access to different levels of the yacht, highlighting the vessel's commitment to accessibility, including for wheelchair users.

In the main lounge, the cabinetry craftsmanship stands out, enhancing the space's proportions. Large windows allow for panoramic views, while a 65-inch television descends from the ceiling at the touch of a button, offering entertainment integrated with the yacht's onboard entertainment system. The lounge is complemented by an interior dining area, providing a refined setting for enjoying meals, especially during inclement weather.

Moving through the lounge, the galley presents itself as a cornerstone of the yacht's interior. Designed to cater to extended stays or charter service, the galley is spacious and equipped with high-grade appliances and substantial food storage capabilities, ensuring that culinary needs are met with ease.

The yacht's Sky Lounge features a bar with a decorative bookcase and a 65-inch television for group entertainment. The lounge's aft bulkhead can be opened up, merging the interior with the exterior and creating a fluid space for guests to enjoy.

Throughout the yacht, the use of high-quality materials such as honey onyx in the bathroom and fine woods and fabrics in the owner's stateroom creates an atmosphere of understated luxury. The design elements are chosen to evoke a connection to the sea, with glass wall reliefs and metalwork inspired by seaweed.

Accommodation

Blue Moon can host 12 guests in its six well-appointed cabins, each designed to provide a tranquil and inviting atmosphere. The yacht features a range of staterooms, including a distinguished owner's suite, three double cabins and two twin cabins, ensuring privacy and relaxation for all on board.

The owner's suite is a haven of tranquility with soft colors and a harmonious blend of woods and fabrics. Large windows allow natural light to cascade into the space, creating an inviting and serene environment. The suite includes an en-suite bathroom adorned with honey onyx, complete with a Jacuzzi tub and a spacious shower. Flanking the bathroom are his and hers changing rooms, providing ample space and privacy.

Guest accommodations on the lower deck are nothing short of exceptional, with a central lobby dividing the spaces for optimal privacy and convenience. A VIP suite showcases the yacht's thoughtful design, offering the option to transform a lounge area into an additional stateroom, if required. This flexibility is achieved through a clever use of hidden panels and doors, seamlessly integrating the space. 

One of the guest staterooms even includes a connecting lounge with a bathroom that can serve as an independent stateroom, further exemplifying the yacht's versatile design.

As for the crew, Blue Moon provides outstanding accommodations that reflect the importance of a content and well-rested team. With the ability to house up to 18 crew members, the yacht ensures that the professional staff has comfortable living arrangements. 

Performance & Capabilities

Blue Moon is powered by two 2000 horsepower 3516 Caterpillar engines. The yacht’s cruising speed is an efficient 14 knots, providing a harmonious balance between fuel consumption and travel pace. When the situation demands, Blue Moon can reach a top speed of approximately 16 knots. The vessel's fuel capacity and efficient engines offer a remarkable transoceanic range that exceeds 5000 nautical miles, allowing for extended voyages without the need for frequent refueling stops.

Blue Moon's stability at sea is further enhanced by advanced stabilization systems. These systems work both at anchor and while underway, contributing to the comfort of all on board by minimizing the yacht's roll and ensuring a more stable platform.

The yacht’s maneuverability is notably improved by the inclusion of a powerful 148 horsepower stern thruster, capable of rotating 360 degrees. This feature is particularly advantageous when docking or navigating tight spaces, allowing for precise control. The captain has noted that the yacht can even be propelled forward at four knots using only the stern thruster, demonstrating its effectiveness.

In terms of power generation and supply, Blue Moon is equipped with three 300 kilowatt generators, which were updated in 2013, ensuring that electrical needs are met with reliability and efficiency. An emergency 85 kilowatt generator is also installed to provide essential power in the unlikely event of a main generator failure.

Blue Moon’s technical spaces are designed with both operation and maintenance in mind. The engine room is a testament to organization and accessibility, with all machinery arranged for easy servicing. The layout of the engine room and associated technical areas reflect a thoughtful approach to onboard systems management, contributing to the yacht’s overall operational excellence.

The integration of a shore power converter ensures Blue Moon’s global cruising capability, allowing her to connect to a variety of shore power systems worldwide, regardless of voltage or frequency differences.

Amenities

The yacht features a well-equipped gym, allowing her guests to keep up their fitness regimes at sea. In addition, a swim platform provides easy access to the ocean. The yacht can house plenty of nautical toys and accessories, with a well-appointed tender garage for storing her impressive locker. An elevator makes the yacht fully-accessible, while air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort and underwater lights will turn plenty of heads when the sun goes down. The sundeck is the social hub of the yacht, with a deck jacuzzi for cooling off and an inviting spread of sunpads.
