Design & Construction

Designed around an aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 8.26m beam and a 2.47m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 383 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

The exterior design of Danadia reflects a practical yet refined approach to yacht building. The hull is constructed with 6.5mm aluminum plating on a frame spacing of 1.2 meters. This robust construction ensures durability and stability in various sea conditions. The hull features a distinctive concave bow, propeller tunnels, and an oversized skeg keel, all drawn from the shipyard's experience in constructing commercial vessels.

The superstructure, designed by Tim Borland, departs from the utilitarian lines of workboats, opting instead for a more traditional yacht appearance. This design choice softens the overall look while maintaining the vessel's structural integrity. The use of aluminum for both the hull and superstructure contributes to a lightweight yet sturdy build.

The yacht's exterior is finished in a crisp white, with black accents provided by the boot top and antifoul. The deck combines aluminum and teak, offering a practical & visually appealing surface.

Danadia combines a robust aluminum hull for stability with refined design elements for a classic yacht appearance.

Interior Design

The interior design of the yacht Danadia reflects a focus on functionality and comfort, integrating a variety of materials and practical features. The galley is equipped with Avonite counters, three large glass-fronted Hobart refrigerators, three ovens, and a Gaggenau pizza oven. This commercial-grade kitchen allows for efficient meal preparation and service. Separate access routes enable the crew to move about without disturbing guests.

The helm station, positioned on the upper deck abaft the bridge, serves as a dedicated office space. It is furnished with Roche Bobois pieces, including a desk and a separate computer station. The layout ensures that cables and other unattractive elements are kept out of sight. The office also features a couch and chair in caramel leather, positioned for easy viewing of a large television screen. Sliding doors open to the aft deck, where a dining table and sun loungers are situated.

The main saloon is designed for comfort, featuring a mix of settees and easy chairs. A large fireplace acts as a central focal point, separating the saloon from the dining area. The fireplace, although appearing to be solid limestone, is constructed from lightweight composites. The saloon's flooring includes sandstone tiles in the entry foyer, which protect the custom Stark carpets from wet conditions.

The dining area is equipped with built-in cupboards and a dark oak table inlaid with brass. It is designed to comfortably seat 10 guests, reflecting the owners' preference for a less formal dining experience. The interior design utilizes a variety of textures and finishes, with an antique finish on the bulkheads that simulates weathered paint.

Accommodation

Danadia accommodates up to 10 guests in five cabins. The master stateroom, located on the main deck forward, is accessible through the owner's study, which serves as a foyer. The master suite features a king-sized bed, loose furniture including antique chests of drawers, and a chaise longue. The en-suite bathroom is spacious and utilizes warm-toned sandstone for both the floor and the walls around the bath.

The lower deck hosts four guest staterooms, each uniquely marked with an antique ship's model on the door. Two of these cabins are equipped with twin beds and shower rooms, while the remaining two have queen-sized beds and en-suite bathrooms. All guest bathrooms are fitted with marble floors, glass dressing tables, and stainless steel wash basins, each distinguished by a different decorative scheme.

For the crew of up to seven, Danadia provides comfortable accommodations forward, consisting of four crew cabins and a spacious mess area.
