Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 26'3" beam and a 7'10" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 369 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in early 1992. She was delivered to her owners in January 1995.
Exterior Design
Envy features a spacious boat deck, equipped to house a tender, jet skis, seabobs, and an array of additional water toys, highlighting the vessel's capability to serve as a platform for aquatic activities and adventure. The upper deck of Envy is accessible via a set of steps, leading to an outdoor dining area where guests can enjoy meals with a view of the surrounding sea.
Envy's foredeck is another noteworthy exterior space, providing a substantial area for anchoring and handling lines. Moving further onto the bow, one gains a perspective on the yacht's impressive stature and the expansive nature of its deck spaces.
On the topmost level, the sundeck offers expansive room for relaxation and entertainment. This area is well-appointed with a bar, refrigeration units, and comfortable seating arrangements, allowing for both social gatherings and private respite. Additionally, the sundeck includes sunbathing spaces and an outdoor shower for cooling off on warmer days.
Interior Design
The main saloon onboard Envy presents a welcoming atmosphere for relaxation, featuring a sizeable dining area. The furniture and fixtures exude a professional and polished finish, with a color palette that complements the natural light entering through the generous windows. The design avoids cramming excessive elements into the space, focusing instead on providing ample room for movement and social interaction.
The materials used throughout the yacht's interior are chosen for their durability and understated elegance. Hardwood floors and paneling contribute to a sense of continuity, while plush carpets offer a contrast that enhances the tactile experience underfoot. Attention to detail is apparent in the craftsmanship of joinery and the selection of textiles that evoke a sense of quiet comfort without resorting to extravagance.
The galley is designed to professional standards, equipped with extensive cold storage, a dishwasher, and other essential amenities expected in a high-caliber kitchen. The area is spacious, allowing for efficient meal preparation and service. It also includes a dedicated mess area for the crew, reinforcing the practical design approach that prioritizes functionality.
The bridge is a serious workspace, outfitted with a full array of navigation equipment, CCTV displays, and engine controls. This area underscores the yacht's commitment to safety and performance. The bridge's layout is pragmatic, with the wheel and seating arranged for optimal operation both in harbor and while on autopilot during longer passages.
Accommodation
Envy accommodates a total of 10 guests across its four generously sized cabins. The layout consists of an owner's suite, one VIP cabin on the main deck, and two additional double cabins. Each cabin is designed to prioritize space and comfort for the guests.
The owner's suite, located on the lower deck, is particularly spacious and is furnished with a large, comfortable bed, ample storage, and a walk-in wardrobe. It boasts not one but two ensuite bathrooms; one is equipped with a full-sized bath, dressing area, and basin, while the other features a large shower, a sink, and a toilet. The suite's size and facilities are indicative of what is typically expected from a yacht in the class above, ensuring a premium experience for the owner.
The VIP cabin, situated on the main deck, offers guests expansive views while underway, adding to the cruising experience. It comes with a large bed, storage options, and an ensuite bathroom that includes both a bath and a shower.
The two double cabins are also well-appointed and include ensuite bathrooms with separate shower areas, AV equipment, and considerable storage facilities. An interesting safety feature in these cabins is the emergency exit that provides direct access to the crew area and, in turn, to the main deck, ensuring safety without compromising comfort or style.
Crew accommodation on Envy is designed for a total of seven crew members, ensuring that all operations onboard are handled smoothly and guests can enjoy a relaxed yacht experience. The crew quarters include a captain's cabin and additional cabins, although the exact layout was not detailed. The crew area is equipped with a professional galley and laundry facilities, further emphasizing the yacht's capacity for superior service and hospitality.
Performance & Capabilities
At the heart of Envy's performance are the twin diesel MTU engines, each a 16V396TB94 model, delivering a substantial 3,432 horsepower. These engines empower Envy to achieve a remarkable top speed of 22 knots, with a cruising speed that is equally impressive at 16 knots. The interplay of power and design ensures that guests aboard Envy experience both swift transits and serene cruising.
Fuel capacity is a critical aspect of any yacht's capabilities, and Envy boasts fuel tanks that can hold up to 37,400 liters. This considerable fuel reserve affords her a maximum range of 1,600 nautical miles when cruising at a speed of 10 knots, allowing for extensive voyages without the frequent need for refueling stops. For those longer journeys or when simply seeking a more leisurely pace, reducing the speed further to 8 knots could potentially enhance the range even more, providing ample opportunity for extended exploration.
Envy's semi-displacement hull design is a key factor in her balanced performance, offering an optimal combination of voluminous interior spaces and notable speed capabilities. This design choice ensures that guests can enjoy the spacious luxury that Envy provides while still benefiting from the yacht's swift cruising abilities.
Another aspect of Envy that enhances the experience of those on board is the incorporation of stabilizers. These are crucial in augmenting onboard comfort, particularly when the yacht is stationary in rough waters. The stabilizers work to minimize the rolling motion of the yacht, ensuring that guests can enjoy their time at anchor with minimal disruption from the sea's movements.
Amenities
In addition, a swim platform provides easy access to the ocean. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort and underwater lights will turn plenty of heads when the sun goes down. Envy also features an inviting spread of sunpads.
