Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and superstructure she features a 21.5m (70ft) beam and a 6m (19.6ft) draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 12,518 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates two helipads, one on the foredeck and the second on the upper deck aft. Two swimming pools feature onboard, the pool on the main deck has a rise-and-fall floor.

Construction started in late 2015 with the keel laid under the project name 'Project Sassi'. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in September 2022 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. Opera was delivered to her owners in February 2023.

Exterior Design

Opera's silhouette is defined by deep overhangs between decks, providing ample enclosed spaces well-suited for the harsher climates she might encounter. Her physical dimensions place her among the world's most significant private yachts in terms of size and gross tonnage.

The yacht presents an impressive profile with extensive use of floor-to-ceiling glass across six guest decks, allowing for natural light to permeate the interior spaces and offering unobstructed views of the surrounding seascape. Opera's maiden voyage showcased two helicopter landing spots, highlighting her capability to accommodate arrivals.

On the main deck, a significant feature is the stone-lined swimming pool, which ingeniously transforms into a dance floor, providing a versatile entertainment space. This pool, along with a second one on the sun deck, anchors the yacht's outdoor amenities. The beach club, accessible by twin staircases, extends the leisure area and emphasizes connectivity with the ocean.

Opera's design incorporates fold-down waterside terraces within the beach club, expanding the available relaxation space and enhancing the guest experience. The multiple alfresco lounge and dining areas scattered across the decks offer varied atmospheres for dining and socializing, each meticulously crafted to cater to the discerning tastes of her guests.

Interior Design

The yacht's interior extensively features satin-finished, open-grain oak for flooring, dark-stained and complemented by polished pewter inlay. This choice of wood, with its unpolished finish, adds a touch of warmth and texture underfoot.

The ceilings, in some areas, are crafted from bamboo, reinforcing the yacht's connection to natural elements. Woven rattan cloaks walls, providing a unique visual and tactile experience that eschews the conventional yacht finish for something more grounded and nature-centric. Stone flooring throughout the yacht is satin-honed, ensuring a more matte finish.

The yacht's layout has been strategically planned to facilitate navigation and orientation, with guest cabin decor varying from deck to deck, thus distinguishing different zones of the vessel. This not only adds character to each section but aids in creating an intuitive sense of place, making it easier for guests to move around the expansive structure.

Accommodation

It is believed that Opera can accommodate 36 guests in 18 suites. A crew of up to 50 are accommodated throughout 25 crew cabins.
