Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 30'6" beam and a 13'9" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 741 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in mid 1984. She was delivered to her owners in May 1986.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of Fantasia is distinguished by its clean lines and streamlined profile. The hull is painted a sleek white, complemented by a matching white superstructure. The yacht features a raked bow, contributing to its dynamic appearance and enhancing its performance in various sea conditions.

The deck, crafted from high-quality teak, adds a touch of durability and functionality, providing a non-slip surface that is ideal for maritime environments. The boot top and below-the-spec areas are finished in black, creating a stark contrast with the white hull and superstructure.

The sun deck is a versatile outdoor space, equipped with a wet bar and comfortable seating. Forward of the steering position, cushioned sunbathing mattresses line the deck, offering ample room for relaxation and enjoyment of the sea views. The aft deck, where teak tables and chairs are covered in turquoise upholstery, provides a private dining area even when in port. Sliding oak screens and glass doors open into the main salon, which seamlessly connects the indoor and outdoor areas.

Fantasia is equipped with two Chris Craft tenders stowed on cradles aft. When the tenders are launched, hinged bulwarks open to form a landing pad for a small helicopter. Access to the sun deck steering position and instrumentation is via a stairway on the boat deck. The large padded deck area forward of the yacht's controls is suitable for sunbathing and offers clear views. Aft of this area, there is a wet bar and wide cushioned seating, enhancing the functionality and comfort of the sun deck.

Interior Design

The main salon serves as a focal point for social interaction. The design incorporates impressionist seascapes and abstract landscapes, complemented by smooth curved furniture and deep wool carpets. Sofas, upholstered by Crisci e Puccini, are arranged in a semi-circle to enhance the sociable atmosphere. An original table, carved from volcanic stone and painted by an artist from Assisi, serves as a distinctive centerpiece.

The study, located forward of the main salon on the starboard side, is designed for versatility. It can function as a private office or a TV and video projection room, featuring a large-scale screen. This space offers a vista across the water that enhances its appeal.

The dining salon, situated opposite the study, offers complete privacy with sliding doors. It features alternating lacquer and fabric panels with rich blue highlights. An oval dining table, decorated with delicate Oriental carvings and set with Limoges porcelain, provides an appropriate setting for formal dining occasions.

Throughout Fantasia, modifications have been made to increase light and space. Corridors and stairwells have been widened and brightened, particularly forward of the dining salon where the crew and guest areas intersect. At night, a lighted recess containing artwork becomes a focal point, enhancing the visual appeal when viewed from the aft deck.

The sky lounge on the boat deck is designed for relaxation. It features teak decks, comfortable corner sofas, and large picture windows. Two marble tables designed by Dilday, incorporating lapis lazuli salvaged from one of the original tables, add to the room's aesthetic. Glass doors from the sky lounge lead onto the boat deck, which includes a built-in divan and twin teak tables that can be adjusted in height and width.

Accommodation

Fantasia can host up to 12 guests in six well-appointed staterooms. The lower deck features a full-beam owner's suite. This suite includes ample wardrobes, cabinets, a writing desk, bookshelves, a seating area, and an en suite spa bath, ensuring a comfortable and private space for the owner.

Additionally, there are two twin guest cabins on the lower deck. Each cabin comes with walk-in wardrobes, en suite head, bidet, and shower. The design focus is on creating a restful atmosphere, with bright chintz bed covers and curtains, soft white wall panel fabrics, and bathrooms decorated with lacquer, mirrors, and polished surfaces.

She is also capable of carrying up to 11 crew. The crew's mess is located on the main deck, separate from the guest areas. The crew quarters and galley are designated as exclusive crew territory, allowing the crew to perform their duties without intruding on guest spaces.
