Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 47'9" beam and a 13'5" draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 1,725 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a touch and go heli-pad.
Construction started in late 2015 with the keel laid under the project name 'NB69'. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in March 2023 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in July 2023.
Exterior Design
Turquoise Yachts focused on maintaining a balanced proportion between the superstructure and the hull, ensuring a compact overall volume. This design philosophy is evident in the yacht's profile, where the superstructure does not extend across the full length of the hull, differing from many other yachts where the superstructure begins more forward.
Infinite Jest exhibits a smooth transition from the sundeck down to the main deck, gradually reducing the visual impact of the superstructure's volume. This effect is achieved through careful design choices that manage the progression of deck levels with subtlety. The designers, aiming for a sleek appearance, incorporated a gently sloping transom sheer line reminiscent of a racing sailing yacht. This feature works in conjunction with the tapering geometry of the forward overhangs to create a slimming effect on the yacht's profile.
Infinite Jest features large vertical windows that contribute to the modern aspect of her design and allow an abundance of natural light into the interior spaces, such as the full-beam VIP cabin. The design includes teardrop-shaped protrusions at the wing stations, echoed in a larger form outside the owner's apartment.
One notable aspect of the exterior is the attention to detail in creating inviting and functional spaces across its five decks. The foredeck offers cozy nooks accessible from the owners' cabin, providing private retreats shielded from the view above. The foredeck can also be used as a Touch and Go helipad. Moving aft, the owners' deck accommodates up to 14 guests for al fresco dining, surrounded by panoramic views of the sea. Above, the sundeck features loose furniture arrangements, inviting relaxation under the open sky. The exterior spaces are crafted with warm wood deckheads in teak.
The main aft deck features an infinity pool with a glass floor, providing light to the beach club below.
Infinite Jest also adheres to Polar Code compliance, enabling her to explore the remotest locations.
Interior Design
The interior design of Infinite Jest prioritizes spaciousness, clean lines, and airy environments, aiming to distinguish itself from conventional yacht interiors. This approach results in a strong residential feel throughout the vessel, achieved through the strategic use of loose furniture, organic shapes, and a palette of pale hues that echo the natural world outside.
Furniture aboard Infinite Jest is notable for its exclusivity and design. Interior pieces were crafted to specific designs by Julie Hillman, with construction by the French atelier Jouffre using marine-grade materials. These pieces are anchored securely with pins to ensure stability without sacrificing the aesthetic of movable furniture. For outdoor areas, the Manutti Kobo collection was chosen for its robustness and design coherence with the interior themes.
The use of natural materials and textures plays a significant role in the interior ambiance. Warm straight-grain oak is used extensively, providing a sheltering effect over seating areas in the main and upper saloons. These spaces are adorned with rare furniture pieces, including upholstered chairs and sofas designed by Hillman, alongside collectible items such as Pierre Paulin sofas and a Mauro Mori coffee table. The creative use of lighting and materials, such as alabaster "Bubble" wall lights and a semi-translucent onyx coffee table in the owner's deck saloon, further enhances the interior's connection to natural elements.
A key feature within Infinite Jest is its sculptural staircase, a three-deck circular construction that serves as the yacht's centerpiece. This staircase, designed by Hillman and Sinot, showcases a stucco finish applied by hand for a subtle texture, framed by hand-carved panels from DKT Artworks in London. The stair treads are covered in white leather, maintaining the neutral color scheme that dominates the yacht's interior spaces.
The yacht's commitment to wellness is evident in the design of its interior spaces dedicated to relaxation and fitness. A spa pool, hammock, and a yoga/massage room with sliding-glass walls are situated on the bridge deck aft, providing guests with a dedicated area for rejuvenation and exercise. Guests can also enjoy fitness facilities adjacent to the beach club, featuring bikes, free weights, and a treadmill recessed into the floor for a comprehensive workout experience.
Attention to comfort and stability on Infinite Jest is evident through the inclusion of advanced stabilizers and vibration damping systems. The yacht employs spring-type engine and generator mounts, as well as shaft couplings from Lo-Rez, a company known for its vibration control equipment. This choice over solid rubber mounts significantly reduces noise and vibration.
Accommodation
Infinite Jest can host 14 guests in seven cabins, each with a unique color theme and high-quality materials, emphasizing individuality and style.
The owner's suite, situated on its own deck, offers unparalleled privacy and views. This exclusive apartment is notable for its forward position, providing 180 degrees of window views and a private terrace that remains unseen from the decks above. The owner's suite encompasses an office and two dressing areas with en-suites, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and luxurious materials such as gold-effect metal mesh and marbles like Travertine and Bianco Dolomiti.
In addition to the lavish owner's suite, Infinite Jest offers accommodation for guests across six cabins located on the main deck. These cabins comprise two VIP rooms, three doubles, and one twin, all emanating from a straight corridor designed to avoid monotony. There is a distinct color theme for each cabin—ranging from silver to rainbow, yellow, and orange—complemented by distinctive furniture and fabrics. Materials such as Poni leather by Dualoy and alpaca velvet by Holly Hunt enhance the luxurious feel of each room. Custom carpets designed by Julie Hillman, realized by Tai Ping in abstract watercolor patterns, add a personal touch to the spaces.
Infinite Jest is also capable of carrying up to 21 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
