Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement ice class steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 18.4m beam and a 4.5m draft. The yacht is built over 6 decks with an internal volume of 4,699 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a touch and go heli-pad.
Construction started in late 2015 with the keel laid under the project name 'Project Palo Alto'. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in August 2018 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2019.
Exterior Design
Alaiya's exterior design meets the stringent standards of the PYC class to accommodate a sizable guest list of up to 36. With a beam nearly reaching 17m (60ft) and spanning six decks, Alaiya's silhouette strikes a balance between prominence and elegance.
The yacht features two helipads, tender garages to host two 13m tenders, two additional 10m tenders, one submarine, and an abundance selection of water toys within its displacement steel hull, aluminum superstructure, and within its teak decks. Several curved sections within its overall sleek lines contrast with the straight lines of the deck profile.
Upon its launch, Alaiya's design, both inside and out, garnered recognition from judges in various design categories. Described by Winch as "feminine in feel but masculine in size," the yacht features thin and fine lines at the bow, reminiscent of a true frigate hull.
Designed originally with a dark blue hull, a recent refit in Germany presented a smart beige hull.
Interior Design
When the elevator onboard draws inspiration from the luxurious design of Le Bristol Paris hotel and boasts its own adorned sofa, you know you're in for a truly indulgent experience. The decor throughout the yacht Alaiya is grand on a scale rarely seen, beginning with an entrance lobby that serves as a striking focal point, featuring a sweeping staircase made of Calacatta marble and brushed steel, accented with 23.8-carat gold.
Detail-oriented touches, like staircases reminiscent of Chateau de Versailles and parquet flooring, enhance the yacht's charm. A discreet day head is concealed behind a substantial bookcase, and a modern fireplace adds warmth. The owner's private living room showcases furniture styles from Louis XIV to Louis XVIII eras, creating a relaxed atmosphere with green-yellow hues. Antique objects, De Gournay silk fabric, and custom Winch Design sofas, armchairs, and chandeliers further elevate this distinct area.
The interior also boasts a year-round usable winter garden on the main deck stern, thanks to climate control. Additional amenities include a wellness center inspired by Capri, featuring a sauna, icy fountain, shower, relaxation room, hammam, and massage parlor. A well-equipped gym and an infinity pool with exquisite mosaics contribute to the health and wellness offerings. A tea room, reminiscent of France's Ladurée, and a technologically advanced theater enhance the leisure options aboard Alaiya.
Accommodation
Alaiya offers a spacious and private experience for guests, comfortably hosting up to 18 individuals in nine well-appointed suites.
The owner's suite provides stunning 180-degree views of the ever-changing seascape. This exclusive space features a walk-in wardrobe and two marble-lined bathrooms with foldaway balconies, creating an intimate connection with the ocean. The suite's aesthetic, characterized by detailed floral designs and cream-colored finishes, imparts a sense of warmth and privacy.
Beyond the owner's accommodations, Alaiya features eight additional double cabins, each inspired by different corners of the world. On the lower deck, the "Provence" and "China Seas" cabins offer the versatility to convert from single to double configurations, with color palettes reflective of their namesakes; "Provence" embraces summer hues, while "China Seas" is adorned with the green of oriental bamboo forests. "Russian Dacha" and "Tuscany" complete the lower deck quartet, immersing guests in the contrasting atmospheres of Russia's frosty landscapes and Italy's sun-kissed terrains.
The main deck houses the remaining four staterooms: "London," "Paris," "New York," and "Marrakech." Each space is a tribute to its respective city, with "London" featuring a Claridges-inspired design, "Paris" adorned with elegant Fleur-de-Lis and Toile de Joie fabrics, "New York" capturing the essence of Art Déco refinement, and "Marrakech" reflecting the vibrant colors and textures of this historic Moroccan city.
To ensure a smooth and attentive service, Alaiya can accommodate a complement of up to 38 crew members. This robust crew capacity guarantees a full crew service.
