Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and a kevlar/aramat superstructure she features a 8.22m beam and a 2.1m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 365 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the first yacht built on the Oceanic 143 design. Launched in July 2022 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was completed at Canados' Rome yard in Italy where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners in September 2023.
Exterior Design
The yacht's profile is characterized by its expansive aft deck, which is significantly larger than what is typically found on vessels of similar length. This area has been thoughtfully configured for entertainment and outdoor living, emphasizing the growing preference among owners and guests for open-air spaces that allow for socialization and enjoyment of the marine environment.
Canados has designed the Oceanic 143 with a semi-custom approach, maintaining a standard exterior structure while allowing for personalization in the layout and utilization of the deck spaces. Future iterations of the yacht have the potential to include features such as an A-frame for carrying sizeable tenders or even submersibles, showcasing the deck's versatility.
The forward section of the yacht diverges from traditional layouts by omitting the usual expanse of sun pads and instead focuses on functional crew operations, with necessary equipment such as the anchor winches and bollards. This strategic design choice allows the living and entertainment areas to be concentrated toward the aft, enhancing the social atmosphere on board.
In line with Canados' reputation for high-quality finishes, the exterior of the Oceanic 143 is completed with a mirror-finished Awlgrip® paint that accentuates the vessel's sleek lines and adds to the overall aesthetic appeal.
Interior Design
The vessel's main deck features a saloon and dining areas boasting full-height windows that envelop the space in natural light, enhancing the connection with the sea.
Exquisite materials are employed throughout the yacht, creating a distinctly elegant atmosphere. The interior features a combination of saddle-stitched leather panels and washed gold color embossed hard leather panels that echo the Fibonacci sequences. The inclusion of bronze inserts adds a touch of understated luxury.
Wood plays a significant role in the design narrative of the Oceanic 143, with Tay washed wood and Rosewood panels complemented by mahogany with brushed stainless-steel inserts. This choice of materials not only adds warmth and texture but also reflects the yacht's strong nautical heritage. The main deck, in particular, is dressed with a tatami-textured European oak silver finished with gold dust, providing a unique tactile and visual experience.
Lighting is strategically integrated into the yacht's design, with discreet backlighting beneath the beds and along the cabinetry. This thoughtful illumination accentuates the clean lines of the interior and sets a serene ambiance that is both inviting and functional.
The galley is a model of efficiency, designed to meet the demands of both the crew and guests. It is equipped with top-of-the-line appliances and ample preparation spaces to facilitate the creation of gourmet meals. The galley's layout allows for seamless service, ensuring that the culinary experience on board is of the highest standard.
Adjacent to the galley is the captain's cabin, which ensures that the captain is always within reach of the helm and galley, facilitating smooth operations and swift decision-making.
The helm, strategically placed on the main deck for optimal visibility, is a professional workspace. It incorporates advanced navigation and boat control systems, all housed within an ergonomic layout that prioritizes functionality. The raised position of the helm offers excellent sightlines, enabling precise maneuvering and control.
On the upper deck, the yacht features a dedicated area for the owner that includes private dining and lounging spaces. This allows for a level of privacy and exclusivity that is expected on a yacht of this caliber.
The sun deck further enhances the onboard experience with its well-appointed amenities, including a bar, sauna, and bathroom. This area is designed for relaxation and entertainment, providing guests with an elevated view and the freedom to enjoy the open air in comfort.
Accommodation
The Oceanic 143 is engineered to offer sumptuous accommodation for a select group of 10 guests, ensuring a premium yachting experience. The guest quarters are comprised of an array of five suites, including an owner's cabin, two VIP cabins, and two twin cabins, all meticulously laid out to maximize comfort and privacy.
The owner's suite, a highlight of the yacht's accommodations, is located on the upper deck, offering exclusive access to a private aft deck and a forward terrace. This privileged positioning not only enhances the exclusivity of the owner's suite but also affords panoramic views and a serene retreat away from the communal areas.
Guests residing in the VIP cabins will appreciate the spacious interiors, each furnished with a queen-size bed and a private seating area, creating a personal oasis for relaxation or intimate socializing. The twin cabins are thoughtfully designed with two single beds and are equally equipped with ample storage and en-suite facilities, ensuring every guest's comfort.
Attention to detail extends to the crew accommodations, which are discreetly positioned to provide up to eight crew members with their own comfortable living space. This includes separate cabins and dedicated areas for rest and daily operations, allowing for the seamless provision of service and maintenance of the yacht's high standards.
Performance & Capabilities
At the heart of the Oceanic 143's prowess are three diesel Caterpillar C32 B engines. These 12-cylinder, 2,400 horsepower engines propel the yacht to an impressive top speed of 24 knots, while a comfortable cruising speed is maintained at 19 knots. The powerful engines ensure that the yacht is not just swift but also versatile, capable of more leisurely passages and extended voyages.
The fuel capacity of 32,000 liters grants Oceanic 143 a remarkable range. When cruising at 8 knots, she can achieve a distance of up to 6,000 nautical miles, making her well-suited for transatlantic travel or extended expeditions without the need for frequent refueling stops.
Stabilizers are installed to ensure the comfort of those on board. Whether anchored in the tranquility of a secluded cove or navigating through choppier seas, guests can enjoy a serene environment that is less affected by the motions of the ocean.
The yacht's semi-displacement hull is a testament to the balance between spacious luxury and performance. The design enables more efficient navigation and better fuel economy at reduced speeds while still allowing for swift passages when desired.
The engineering spaces are meticulously planned. The engine room, located aft of the tender bay, provides easy access for maintenance and monitoring. This space is connected to a control room, which also houses the engineer's cabin, ensuring that critical systems are always under watchful supervision.
Amenities
Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Oceanic Grand also features an inviting spread of sunpads and deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
