  • Spacious aft deck with dining area
  • Extended range: 5,000 nautical miles
  • Full-beam master cabin with ensuite
  • Large galley with modern appliances

Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 7.32m beam and a 2.49m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 152 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the fourth yacht built on the N86 design.

Exterior Design

Pirate Radio's aft deck area serves as a practical space for dining and relaxation, shielded by a bimini for additional shade. The hinge-open transom grants direct access to the bathing platform, suitable for a variety of water-based activities. Protective covers are strategically placed to shield the woodwork from the elements, underlining the yacht's readiness for the harsh marine environment.

On the upper deck, the helm station is equipped with comprehensive navigational technology, reflective of the vessel's capability to undertake serious sea journeys. The boat deck accommodates a sizeable tender, further emphasizing the yacht's self-sufficient character and its provisioning for exploration and utility.

The foredeck of Pirate Radio is equipped with a dual anchoring system and substantial ground tackle, necessary for secure anchorage in remote locales. The yacht's overall design is a clear reflection of its purpose as a dependable and capable explorer, designed to traverse vast distances with reliability.

Pirate Radio, with its well-appointed mechanical systems and robust build, stands ready to take on the challenges of the open ocean with confidence and endurance.

Interior Design

The interior incorporates light woodwork accented with darker tones, creating a contrast that brings a professional yet welcoming atmosphere to the spaces within. In the main saloon, the space is arranged to facilitate social interaction and relaxation. Included in this area is a bar, which serves as a focal point for entertaining guests. The salon is furnished with comfortable seating and equipped with a television that can be adjusted for optimal viewing angles. Storage is thoughtfully integrated behind the sofas, ensuring practicality in the living space.

Adjacent to the salon is the dining area, which features a sizable dining table set in an environment that is both inviting and conducive to enjoying meals. Nearby, a side access door offers convenience, while a desk area provides a dedicated space for work or navigation planning.

The galley is designed for efficiency and ease of use, with ample refrigeration—including a dedicated wine cooler—and cooking facilities that include a dishwasher. A coffee machine is also available, and additional workspace can be created with a lift-up section. The galley's layout allows for direct service to the dining area, reinforcing the yacht's suitability for hosting gatherings.

The helm exudes a professional aesthetic, fitted with an array of displays for navigation, radar, and engine instrumentation. Communication equipment and engine controls are within easy reach, ensuring efficient operation of the yacht. Stern thrusters, an autopilot system, and an array of other essential controls are also present, reflecting the yacht's capability for precise maneuvering and long-range voyaging.

Accommodation

Pirate Radio features accommodations for 10 guests across five cabins. Notably, the yacht houses a generous owner's suite situated on the upper deck, offering panoramic views and a private terrace for exclusive enjoyment. The suite includes a spacious ensuite bathroom adorned with marble finishes, a large shower area, and ample storage, ideal for extended voyages.

Guests are welcomed into additional cabins located on the lower deck, each boasting sizable windows that allow for natural light and sea views. These cabins are furnished with comfortable bedding, storage solutions, and personal AV systems. Each cabin is complemented with its own ensuite facilities, which include showers and all necessary amenities.

On the main deck, an additional cabin is available, which can serve as either an overflow guest cabin or a captain's cabin, depending on the operational needs of the yacht. This versatile space also includes an ensuite and is equipped with a ship monitoring system, allowing for constant oversight of the yacht's vital functions.

The crew quarters for up to four are situated in the lower deck and are designed for functionality and privacy, featuring sleeping arrangements, storage, and a shared bathroom with shower.

Performance & Capabilities

With a solid and robust stature, Pirate Radio is equipped with a pair of MTU (Series 60) diesel engines, each producing 600 horsepower. This vessel's optimal cruising speed is approximately 9 knots, which is a strategic choice that significantly enhances its fuel efficiency and extends its range to an impressive 5,000 nautical miles. At this speed, the yacht is capable of undertaking long voyages, ensuring that destinations far and wide are within reach.

The yacht's mechanical capabilities are further complemented by a robust set of generators, located just inside the engine space, that provide reliable power to all onboard systems during extended trips at sea. The engine room itself is meticulously organized and includes features such as sight gauges for fuel monitoring and access to pump rooms.

In addition to its propulsion and power generation systems, Pirate Radio is also equipped with track stabilization technology, which plays a crucial role in maintaining onboard comfort and safety in varying sea conditions. This system mitigates the yacht's roll, ensuring a smoother journey for guests and crew alike.

The yacht's engineering spaces reveal a dedication to functionality and redundancy, with a water purification system and a significant water maker installed, allowing for the production of fresh water while at sea. The presence of dual water pumps is also a testament to the vessel's commitment to redundancy, ensuring that essential services remain operational even in the unlikely event of a single pump failure.
