Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 27'11" beam and a 6'11" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 395 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 1998. She was delivered to her owners in November 2001.
Exterior Design
Silver Dream's sleek profile is accentuated by her striking black hull, which contrasts elegantly with the metallic silver finish of her superstructure, creating a visual spectacle that commands attention and admiration as she glides through the water.
Functionality and aesthetic appeal are seamlessly integrated into the yacht's external spaces. Multiple deck areas are designed to be uncluttered, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the tranquil marine environment. The tender garage, ingeniously concealed at the stern, opens to a teak-laid bathing platform that serves as a launchpad for water-based activities. Two wide stairways ascend from this platform, gracefully framing the curve of the garage doors and leading up to the aft deck, where guests can convene for alfresco dining around a vast circular teak table set within the curving aft bulwark.
Ed Dubois's clever use of space extends to the side decks that facilitate crew movement and guest privacy. These decks converge into a Portuguese bridge that offers panoramic views ahead, enhancing the sense of exploration and adventure as Silver Dream journeys across the seas. The bridge deck aft, partially shaded by the overhang of the sun deck, is an oasis of relaxation, furnished with in-built seating and inviting steamer chairs.
At the pinnacle of the yacht's outdoor experience is the sun deck, a sanctuary of leisure that features a lavish spa pool and a regal sunbed, complemented by crescent-shaped seating that encourages social interaction under the open sky. The foredeck, not to be outdone, provides a horseshoe seating arrangement and an intimate bow seat, perfect for guests seeking a quiet moment to appreciate the journey.
Interior Design
Sam Sorgiovanni brought his expertise to Silver Dream, creating a cohesive and elegant design that flows seamlessly throughout the yacht. The prime objective was to ensure comfort and luxury in every detail, from the well-proportioned spaces to the handcrafted furniture and intricate decorative elements that evoke a subtle Art Deco influence.
The main saloon stands as a centerpiece of Sorgiovanni's design philosophy, showcasing madrona burl cabinetry with sleek, clean lines that project a modern yet timeless aesthetic. The backdrop for this space is a palette of materials and finishes expertly curated by Thomas Hamel. He masterfully blends various textures such as high-gloss finishes, sharkskin vinyl, and automotive lacquer with sumptuous fabrics and marbles, creating a rich, layered experience that is both visually striking and inviting.
In terms of functionality, the saloon offers both daytime allure with expansive windows for scenic views and an intimate ambiance suited for evening relaxation. Provision for privacy is subtly integrated, with strategically placed cabinets and screens that maintain an open feel while discreetly segmenting areas for guest comfort and crew efficiency.
The dining saloon exudes glamour with its madrona table accented with stainless steel and silver lacquer, setting the stage for memorable dinner parties. The space is a testament to the yacht's commitment to elegance and sophistication, where every meal becomes an event.
Ascending to the sky lounge, one finds a versatile area bathed in natural light, furnished for utmost relaxation and socializing. By night, this space transforms into a cinematic sanctuary, complete with a large screen and state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, thanks to the seamlessly integrated Crestron system.
Accommodation
Silver Dream welcomes up to twelve guests in six lavish staterooms. The master suite, a gem of the main deck, spans the full beam of the yacht, allowing for expansive views and an abundance of natural light. It features a king-sized bed, a private study, a dressing room, and a spa-like bathroom with a spa bath and a separate shower room. The suite's decor is enriched with gold accents, harmonizing with the yacht's overall luxurious aesthetic.
Below deck, guests will find four additional staterooms, two of which are furnished with queen-sized beds, while the other two offer twin beds, catering to a variety of guest configurations. Each stateroom boasts its unique color scheme and is adorned with fine fabrics, metallic lacquer, and marble, demonstrating an unwavering attention to detail. These guest cabins, though more compact due to the incorporation of a garage on the lower deck, remain supremely comfortable and exquisitely appointed.
The 'honeymoon suite,' located adjacent to the sky lounge, provides an intimate retreat for a couple, with a queen-sized bed and an en suite shower room. When not used by charter guests, this space serves as an opulent captain's cabin, highlighting the versatility and thoughtful design of the yacht's accommodations.
In addition to guest spaces, Silver Dream ensures that her crew of up to 9 is also housed in comfort, facilitating impeccable service at all times. The crew quarters are thoughtfully situated to allow efficient access to all areas of the yacht. The accommodation includes a double cabin reserved for the captain and three twin-bunked cabins, all of which are en suite to offer privacy and convenience.
The crew area also includes a well-equipped galley, a crew mess that integrates the laundry for added space efficiency, and a dedicated passageway that assists in discreet and seamless service to the guest cabins. The strategic placement and design of crew spaces underscore the yacht's commitment to operational excellence and the well-being of those who keep Silver Dream running smoothly.
