Design & Construction

Designed around a fast displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 28'3" beam and a 6' draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 499 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

The exterior design of Spitfire is a blend of aeronautical inspiration and maritime functionality. Drawing from the iconic design of the Supermarine Spitfire fighter aircraft, the yacht's sleek lines and purposeful stance reflect its namesake's distinctive character. Built on the foundation of the ARES 150 BOLD, Spitfire benefits from a hull that has been thoroughly optimized through rigorous simulations, testing, and sea trials as a coastguard vessel.

The aft cockpit area is designed for flexibility, featuring built-in bench and sunbed seating that can be oriented both forward and aft. An outdoor cinema setup is available, maximizing entertainment options. The use of glazing enhances the flow of natural light into the space, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. Fold-down terraces expand the beach club area, providing additional space for relaxation and water activities. The swim platform is equipped with a transformer, which extends its functionality and ease of use.

Interior Design

The interior design of Spitfire focuses on flexible and informal living, seamlessly blending indoor spaces with the yacht's outdoor areas. The saloon, with its zero-threshold sliding doors, allows for easy access to the aft cockpit area, creating an open and inviting atmosphere. The space is enhanced by built-in bench and sunbed seating, offering both comfort and functionality. The saloon's layout also includes an option for an outdoor cinema, maximizing its use for entertainment and relaxation.

Natural light is a key feature in the interior spaces, facilitated by extensive glazing that allows sunlight to penetrate into the beach club area below, creating a bright and airy environment.

Her name is the theme onboard Spitfire, with plenty of spaces having WWII & aviation inspired names - such as the Scramble Station Ward Room, the Bunker and, of course, the Pilothouse.

Accommodation

The yacht Spitfire offers accommodation for 18 guests in five cabins. These include a full-beam owner's suite located on the main deck forward, providing exclusive access to a private outdoor terrace with a jacuzzi. The owner's suite is designed for privacy and comfort. The remaining guest cabins are on the lower deck, consisting of two double cabins and two twin cabins, ensuring ample space and comfort for all aboard.

For a crew of up to nine, there are five dedicated cabins, facilitating efficient and attentive service throughout the voyage.

Performance & Capabilities

Spitfire  is equipped with twin diesel-electric MAN (V12 2000) 389hp engines. This system allows for a quiet and low-emissions and the yacht can operate in silent mode for up to six hours without the need for the generator, or for one hour using electric-only cruising.

The propulsion system integrates variable-speed generators with a battery package, allowing for extended silent operation of up to 11 hours in typical Mediterranean conditions over a 24-hour period. This setup ensures zero noise and emissions during these periods but also reduces operational complexity and running costs. The focus on minimizing noise and vibrations further adds to the comfort of guests onboard.
