Ares Yachts Unveils New Renderings of 54m Explorer Yacht Atlas

Ares Yachts has revealed new details and renderings of the 54m explorer yacht Atlas, a concept designed for adventurous owners.

First introduced in October 2024, Atlas is set to incorporate commercial and naval influences with modern superyacht refinement, delivering a robust yet luxurious platform for global exploration.

Designed by Hot Lab, part of the Viken Group, the superyacht features strong, naval-inspired lines complemented by floor-to-ceiling glass for an excellent connection between her interior and exterior spaces. Her Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF), developed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects, makes sure she remains efficient at both low and high speeds. Her explorer nature is clear in her ability to reach over 16 knots with a 5,000 nautical mile range.

A key standout feature is the mezzanine bow, a multi-level structure replacing the traditional foredeck. This design allows for a private owner’s terrace with a spa pool, directly accessible from the owner’s suite. Four additional guest staterooms, located further aft, provide direct beach club access, a rare configuration made possible by placing the engine room forward. Accommodation is also provided for up to nine crew members.

Resort-Like Outdoor Spaces

Atlas’s expansive beach club sets her apart, offering a cocktail bar, sunbeds, and lounge seating that extend over three sides. Fold-down terraces further expand the deck area. The aft deck is designed as an open-air social hub, ideal for both relaxation and watersports.

Every aspect of the design is geared toward an owner who seeks both luxury and adventure ready to explore beyond the beaten path.”

Enrico Lumini, Design Director at Hot Lab, describes the effect as creating a “resort-like atmosphere”, allowing guests to move effortlessly between socializing, water activities, and relaxation. Meanwhile, the infinity pool offers breathtaking ocean views.

Adventure-Ready Performance

Atlas is equipped for true exploration, offering extensive tender storage and a side-launch system for quick deployment of a large primary tender—ideal for island hopping and accessing remote locations. Additional features include storage for jet skis, seabobs, paddleboards, e-foils, submersibles, and diving gear. Owners can also opt for a touch-and-go helipad, enabling fast transfers and heli-skiing excursions.

Environmentally conscious owners may choose an optional hybrid propulsion system and solar panels, reducing emissions and enhancing self-sufficiency for off-grid cruising.

Built for Exploration

Antonio Romano, Commercial and Marketing Director of the Viken Group, emphasizes Atlas’s versatile deck layout, which transitions effortlessly between entertainment and adventure. Whether hosting an elegant dinner under the stars or launching into an adrenaline-fueled expedition, every space is designed to elevate the yachting lifestyle.
