SPITFIRE draws her inspiration from the iconic Supermarine Spitfire, an aircraft synonymous with British aviation history. Crafted by the experienced British designers Bannenberg & Rowell, Spitefire's construction is set to commence this spring.
Inside, the motor yacht for sale embraces natural colours, drawing from military and naval camouflage. The interior utilises punched metal surfaces, leather, and tinted glass, subtly nodding to the 1940s industrial architectural style.
This was a simultaneously beautiful and deadly design; a fast, nimble response to the challenges of the new battlefield of World War Two: the air. The spirit of the dogfight, immense individual bravery, optimised engineering, and even sacrifice.”

Step into the owner's domain at the forward of the main deck, where the full-beam suite invites you with its freestanding bed and epic 270-degree vistas. Film aficionados will revel in the private forward cockpit, perfect for outdoor movies, thanks to retractable side screens and glass bulwarks. Below deck, four spacious guest cabins await, each with large ensuites and ample storage. These "Buddy Quarters" reflect a modern approach to yachting, favouring a more egalitarian spirit.
"After years of painstaking development, we are thrilled to share details of SPITFIRE," said Piraye Sahinkaya Orhun, Managing Director of ARES Yachts. "Building SPITFIRE allows us to showcase our unrivalled expertise in high-quality fibreglass and our understanding of creating a safe, high-performance hull."
Eschewing tradition, SPITFIRE's rooms carry playful military-themed names. "The Boss’s Quarters" and "The Pilot House" reflect her historical roots, while the panoramic "Ready Room" serves as a guest lounge with sweeping views.
Rowell, the Creative Director for Bannenberg & Rowell, pointed out the plane's distinctive aesthetic, “Aesthetically the Spitfire was immediately identifiable by its elliptical wing profile. Innovative sunken rivets created an unusually sleek aerodynamic surface.”
This design ethos informs SPITFIRE, showcasing nimbleness and efficiency through smooth surfaces, metallic sheen, and a palette echoing earthy and marine tones."The Bunker" on the main deck conveys this asethetic, with sophisticated glazed walls, providing light, views, and shelter.
The D-Fac dining salon carries this design, offering sweeping views of the ocean - perfect for any occasion.
Although built on speculation, potential owners have the flexibility to tailor interiors, particularly carpets and soft furnishings, by reaching out to ARES Yachts. This allows for a personal touch in a yacht that already stands as a testament to both luxury and innovation.
Designed for those who crave both speed and stability, she reaches a top speed of over 20 knots and boasts a cruising range of 3,500 nautical miles. Derived from the successful ARES 150 BOLD offshore patrol vessel, SPITFIRE benefits from Lateral Naval Architects' expertise. Her hull dynamics ensure impressive performance.
SPITFIRE offers a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system, letting owners play with several power options. Twin 290kW electric motors utilise her large battery bank to propel her for up to an hour. The yacht runs emissions-free, keeping her hotel systems operational overnight without a sound. With an optional battery package, this silent mode extends to 11 hours, even in the Mediterranean.
Variable speed generators enhance onboard tranquillity and efficiency. As excitement builds, Rowell, one of the masterminds behind the project, enthused, "From the seed of an idea which germinated over many years with our countrymen collaborators at Lateral, through to capturing the imagination of the feisty visionaries at ARES Yachts and the dynamic Denison Yachts & Christie Yachts Team, we just can’t wait to see this project come to fruition, and to share both our team and our ideas with an incoming owner."
