Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement GRP hull and superstructure she features a 29'3" beam and a 9'2" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 443 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the first yacht built on the Vision 145' design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. She was completed at Benetti's Viareggio yard in Italy where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of The Star features a raked bow, providing a sleek and efficient profile for cutting through the water. The deck is constructed from high-quality teak, ensuring durability and a classic aesthetic. Both the hull and the superstructure are finished in white, presenting a clean and cohesive look. Below the waterline, the yacht is painted black, enhancing its streamlined appearance.

The sun deck is spacious and protected from the wind by curved glass screens. This area includes a settee and a permanent awning frame extending over a circular table with built-in seats, a barbecue, a bar, and the top station of a food lift in adjacent lockers. There is also a large area of sunpads surrounding a spa pool, providing ample space for sunbathing and relaxation.

The bridge deck is dominated by a circular sun lounge, which features extensive glazing that blurs the line between indoor and outdoor spaces. This deck also has a substantial teak-laid area with settees around the aft rail. Access to the bridge is internal or via steps from the main deck, as there are no side decks on this level. A Y-shaped Portuguese bridge descends forward, leading to a private deck above the owner's suite, which includes a small breakfast table and another spa pool.

The main deck offers a generous open space aft, shaded by the upper deck. A rectangular teak table with a settee along one side and chairs on the other provides an alternative venue for alfresco dining. Stairs from this deck lead down to the boarding/bathing platform on one side, while the passerelle extends to the quayside on the other.

The yacht's exterior design incorporates practical features such as a large garage for toys and tenders, with a secondary doorway on the starboard side to facilitate easy launching. The yacht also includes a 600-tonne mobile boat lift for launching or lifting yachts.

Interior Design

The interior design of The Star is marked by its use of fine timbers and exotic marbles, creating a bright and eye-catching atmosphere throughout the yacht. Upon entering the starboard-side lobby, guests are greeted by a unique marble combination floor and high-gloss cherrywood joinery. Chromed handrails with gold trim and polished stainless steel and glass elements add to the overall aesthetic.

The main saloon and dining room are designed as an open-plan space with large rectangular windows on either side, allowing natural light to flood the area. The predominant timber here is high-gloss cherrywood, complemented by burl maple locker doors and dining tables. The seating arrangement includes café au lait leather tub chairs and games tables by Bradley of Folkestone, situated at the aft end of the saloon. Two settees provide comfortable spots for viewing the giant plasma-screen television, which emerges from a cabinet that separates the saloon from the dining room.

Accommodation

The Star can host up to 10 guests across five staterooms. The Owner's Suite is a standout feature of The Star. Located forward on the main deck, it includes a semicircular wall of windows that provides panoramic views and opens onto a private deck. The centerpiece of the suite is a king-sized bed and a comfortable sofa set on a turntable, allowing for flexibility in orientation. At the touch of a button, the bed and sofa can face either the expansive ocean views or a large plasma-screen television, offering a unique blend of comfort and functionality.

The guest accommodation is equally impressive. Below the main deck, there are four en suite staterooms, each designed with functionality and comfort in mind. Two of these are VIP staterooms featuring beds set at a 45-degree angle to the centerline, adding visual interest and maximizing space. The forward twin-berthed staterooms offer a more traditional layout but do not compromise on space or comfort.

She is also capable of carrying up to nine crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3508 B) 1,300hp engines, motor yacht The Star is capable of reaching a top speed of 15 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. With her 17,858 gallon fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,606 nautical miles at 12 knots.
