Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 29'2" beam and a 9'10" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 474 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in mid 1993. She was delivered to her owners in July 1995.

Exterior Design

Solafide features a raked bow, enhancing its performance and providing an elegant forward profile. The deck is constructed from teak, offering durability and a classic maritime appearance. The hull and superstructure are both painted white, creating a cohesive and clean look. This choice of color not only reflects the traditional styling but also emphasizes the yacht’s sleek lines. The boot top and antifoul areas are painted black, adding a contrasting element that highlights the yacht's waterline. This contrast not only serves an aesthetic purpose but also provides practical benefits in maintenance and visibility.

The upper deck aft features a large 12-seater table, 2.5 meters in diameter, inlaid with a compass rose, offering ample space for outdoor dining and gatherings. The yacht's design includes a helipad capable of supporting an Agusta 109 helicopter, with integrated support requirements.

One of the key highlights is the deck Jacuzzi, offering a perfect spot for guests to unwind while enjoying panoramic views. The yacht also includes an array of practical amenities such as a fully equipped RYA watersports center and a selection of gym equipment, ensuring charter guests have a range of activities at their disposal.

For those interested in water activities, Solafide is equipped with various water toys. These include a pair of SeaDoo Spark WaveRunners, waterskis, a SEABOB, wakeboards, paddleboards, kayaks, and inflatable water toys, as well as snorkeling equipment. This extensive collection ensures guests have plenty of options for recreation on the water.

For tender operations, Solafide is equipped with two Novurania Equator tenders. These can be launched via a crane system that spans the full width of the yacht, operated by handsets and illuminated by spotlights for night operations. Solafide also includes storage bays for tenders on the main deck aft.

Access to the vessel is facilitated by a 7-meter-long passerelle, which can swing to the starboard side when berthed alongside. Surveillance cameras are placed strategically on the side decks and in the engine room for security purposes.

Interior Design

The interior design of Solafide reflects a nature-inspired aesthetic, with careful attention to the selection of materials and finishes. The decor includes a carpet hand-cut to resemble waves, adding a subtle dynamic element to the floors. The walls are adorned in muted white and ivory tones, creating a calming and neutral environment. The original furniture and interior architecture have been preserved, maintaining the traditional elements characteristic of the build. This is complemented by new, hand-worked raffia details that add a touch of craftsmanship.

The main salon and other lounges are designed to provide comfortable and functional spaces for relaxation and entertainment. Each area benefits from the same careful selection of materials and finishes found throughout the yacht. The use of ribbed oak wood and hand-worked raffia details ties the various spaces together, ensuring a cohesive design language.

Accommodation

Solafide offers accommodation for up to 10 guests in 5 suites. The owner’s suite has been meticulously refreshed to reflect a nature-inspired décor. The suite features hand-worked raffia details and delicate wall coverings in a pale color palette, which beautifully accentuates the dark brown, leather-weave headboard. The owner’s bathroom has been completely rebuilt using hand-picked Carrara marble slabs. These slabs have been laser-cut to create a ribbed texture that complements the existing ribbed oak wood finish.

The VIP cabins also benefit from the same high attention to detail. Their bathrooms have been entirely reconstructed with the same Carrara marble slabs used in the owner’s bathroom, ensuring a consistent and luxurious feel throughout the yacht. There are two further twin cabins are each fitted with a shower room and additional Pullman bunks, making them ideal for families or additional guests.

The crew area includes a mess, five double crew cabins, a laundry room, and cold storage rooms. Additionally, there are separate cabins for the chief engineer and his assistant, who share a shower room. This thoughtful design allows the crew to provide seamless service throughout the voyage.
