Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 11.8m beam and a 3.1m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 1,876 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in October 2012 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in December 2012.

Exterior Design

The exterior is striking in silver, incorporating stainless steel and a line of rectangular windows stretching from the bow. The low-slung superstructure, entirely made of glass, accentuates the contemporary design. Starck's vision features straight lines and 90-degree angles, alongside an axe bow and an unusual flat, square stern. The clutter-free teak forward deck complements the minimalist aesthetic.

Eckersley O'Callaghan, a renowned glass structural engineering firm based in London, entered the yachting domain with the commission of Venus. Their expertise is evident, having previously designed notable structures for Apple, including the iconic glass cube of the Apple Fifth Avenue store in New York and the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California. In the latter, a 41-meter diameter cylinder of glass panels serves as the sole support for an 80-tonne carbon fiber roof, showcasing their engineering prowess in seismic conditions.

Interior Design

The interiors have never been made public. There is a rumor that the soundproofing in the interior is so comprehensive that guests have to rely on a high-tech internal system to communicate.

Accommodation

It is understood that Venus provides accommodation for up to 12 guests throughout six suites.

The yacht is capable of carrying up to 22 crew onboard to ensure operational effectiveness and a relaxed luxury yacht experience for family and friends.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 4000 M73) 16-cylinder 3,433hp engines, motor yacht Venus is capable of reaching a top speed of 22 knots, and comfortably cruises at 16 knots.
