Delivered in 2021 to a repeat customer, ZAZOU is a custom 65.5m (215ft) motor yacht built by Italian shipyard Benetti. Her interior design comes from the drawing boards of Sinot Yacht Design, while Giorgio Cassetta is responsible for her exterior design. In build, the yacht was originally known as FB274.

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 11.9m beam and a 3.4m draft. The yacht is built over three decks with an internal volume of 1,350 GT (Gross Tonnes). 

The custom yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards and sports an eye-catching Carinthia blue hull. Launched in April 2021 the yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was built at Benetti’s Livorno yard in Italy where she was commissioned and delivered to her owners in the summer of 2021.

Exterior Design

ZAZOU features an exterior design by Giorgio M. Cassetta, with an aluminum superstructure and steel hull painted Carinthia blue. The yacht boasts a sporty design and a unique sun deck.

The sun deck spans 36 meters in length and over 200 square meters of space for relaxation, entertainment, sports, and leisure. It includes a counter-current swimming pool, gymnasium, bar area, and dining area for up to 14 guests. Sun pads and seating provide a superb guest area that transforms into an open cinema in the evening.

At the stern, the extensive beach club area has two openings to the water's edge. The stern opening provides access to the bathing platform, while the port side opening offers additional access with a drop-down balcony. Twin staircases lead down from the main deck aft, flaring slightly as they reach the fixed bathing platform. Access between deck levels is provided by stairways on the starboard side. Atop the yacht, a high vertical radar mast with elements of black carbon contrasts strikingly against the white superstructure.

The foredeck is a sleek, teak-decked space that includes a helicopter landing area, easily converted into a sun lounging space when not in use. Steps descend to a guest area with extensive sun pads and U-shaped seating, providing access to the wide side decks.

Interior Design

The interiors of ZAZOU, originally designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design, were refreshed in 2023/2024 following her delivery in 2021. The yacht entered the charter market, prompting the refurbishment. The spacious interior features a light and soothing color palette, varied textures, exotic marble, light woods, and pops of color for contrast.

The main saloon combines subdued tones, luxurious materials, and accents of light blue. An impressive marble and stone bar stands in the salon. The white and grey shades, with jet-black lines, are echoed in the design of the round table nearby, and a Basquiat-esque painting adds bold splashes of color. Recessed lamps and sconces complement the natural sunlight from the large windows with a golden glow. In the main lounge, an imposing coffee table, cut from the same stone as the bar counter, serves as the centerpiece. A grey and white L-shaped sofa hugs the full length of the walls, with a large ottoman and two black and white chairs completing the seating arrangement. The neutral tones of the furniture are brightened by sky-blue accents in the cushions.

The dining room features a table that comfortably seats up to 10 guests, with an impressive chandelier above.  The soft lighting, rounded edges of the white table, and plush dining chairs contribute to the chic yet cozy atmosphere. The simple choice of white and silver furnishings and minimalistic art on the walls creates a serene, zen ambiance.

In the upper saloon, the serene ambiance continues with shades of white and grey. Marble tables, white coral centerpieces, understated furniture, and cooler tones of wood enhance this tranquil space. The lower salon connects to the beach club and embraces a fun theme. Golden lighting, a pale-orange Matisse print, and lemon throw cushions on the kidney-shaped couch add warmth. The textured rug, reminiscent of the raked sand of a Japanese zen garden, and light wood chairs enhance the beachy feel.

Accommodation

ZAZOU can accommodate 12 guests in six double cabins. The owner enjoys a luxurious suite consisting of a lounge area with a TV, a double wardrobe, and a large bed with a second TV. Pure white walls and furniture provide a tranquil haven, and dark accent lines and touches of blue provide contrast.

On the upper deck, there is also a massage room that can be converted into a double VIP cabin. On the lower deck, the sleeping area amidships is made up of three double cabins, with either blue or yellow accents with different geometrical patterns. A further guest cabin that can be converted into a double thanks to sliding beds, features bursts of orange in the rug and bedding, paired with youthful decor such as round wall lamps, creating a welcoming atmosphere ideal for younger guests. 

Accommodating a crew of 16, including the captain, the yacht features nine crew cabins forward on the lower deck. 

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3512C) engines, motor yacht ZAZOU is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 15 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.

Leisure & Entertainment

ZAZOU is a yacht geared towards conversation and relaxation. The upper deck skylounge integrates naturally with the aft outdoor spaces and includes two L-shaped sofas and a table for eight people for relaxed chats with panoramic views.

Similarly the sun deck area at the stern provides another inviting spot and also turns into an atmospheric open-air cinema in the evening. In fact inside the large living area can also be converted into a luxurious cinema room.

Aft of the main deck is a further large outdoor area ideal for social gatherings.

Wellness

The 25 square-meter lower deck beach club and swim platform provide easy access to the water. The serene space of the massage and treatment room features rich reddish-brown woods, shelves adorned with candles, bamboo orchids, and Buddha statuettes, creating a Southeast Asian-inspired ambiance.

The fully equipped gym includes cardio and cable machines, a comprehensive selection of dumbbells, and a multifunctional squat rack. Its open layout allows space for mobility exercises, yoga, or bodyweight workouts. Both a personal trainer and a yoga instructor are available onboard.

Amenities

ZAZOU’s sun deck is one of the largest for a yacht of its size and boasts an elegant, 5m long, infinity pool. An elevator also connects the bridges between the lower and upper deck.

In addition there is a voluminous skylounge, two cinema areas and numerous places to retire to and relax completely.

Tenders

An enclosed part of the beach club provides storage space for water toys, whilst the tender garage, forward of the man deck, can accommodate a 7.5 meter tender, two jetskis and a rescue tender.
