The popular Amels 171 superyacht GRACE has departed the Damen Yachting Vlissingen City shipyard following the completion of a four month refit.
The 52m (170.6ft) superyacht returned to her home shipyard 12 years on from her original delivery for a series of works aimed at revitalizing and modernizing the Limited Editions range yacht. The works have included a technical upgrade, complete hull respray and interior modification.
“It has been an honor to have GRACE back at the shipyard,” says Damen Yachting Sales Manager Michel Coens, who knows the yacht well from her time at the yard during the original build. “As with all refit projects, time was of course of the essence but the preparation and cooperation with the crew and the Owner’s team has been exceptional. We are delighted to have been able to achieve so much in a relatively short space of time and to now see GRACE head off on her way again revitalized with a new lease of life! We wish the Owner and her crew all the very best for a great season ahead.”
The refit section of Amels and Damen Yachting has been busy in recent months with Amel's largest-ever superyacht ‘Here Comes the Sun’ also coming to the end of an extensive refit that has seen 6m (20ft) added to her length and a series of other modifications.
Delivered in 2009, GRACE is part of the Amel’s 171 line, a design series of six which, over a period of 15 years evolved into the hugely popular Amels 180 Limited Editions design, which went on to become the world’s best selling 55m (180.4ft) superyacht.
The first Amels 171, motor yacht DENIKI, hit the water in 2007. Like other yachts in the Amels Limited Edition range the model proved popular thanks to its combination of custom and platform build techniques that can reduce delivery time to just a few months.
