Based on PCO™ (Photocatalytic Oxidation) technology, the pure air system known as MMVS (Marine Mechanical Ventilation System), has been patented by NASA and was originally used to renew and sanitize air during aerospace missions.
Yacht buyers considering purchasing a new Azimut Yacht can now benefit from new technology that promises a temperature-controlled environment and fresh, sanitized air on board.
The Azimut Magellano 25 Metri will be the first model to have the system installed. The first hull in the range will make its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2020 in September, where it will become the flagship of the shipbuilder’s Magellano range.
Mimicking processes found in nature, MMVS employs the combined action of specialized UV rays and a catalytic structure without affecting the yacht’s performance and consumption. It will work by sanitizing the air conditioning ducts, surfaces and technical components such as the fan coils, leading to pure, fresh air.
The system will be split across the lower and upper deck of the Magellano 25 Metri, resulting in a comprehensive change of air every two hours and temperature-controlled environment.
The technology has been introduced in response to an increasingly widespread demand for increased air quality in day-to-day life.
According to Azimut; “Unlike atmospheric pollution, which has been a focus of attention for many years now, the need to look in more detail at pollution in interior environments has emerged only more recently, not least because of the increasing amount of alarming scientific evidence to emerge about the health impacts of this phenomenon.
"Which is why, perfectly attuned to the times, Azimut Yachts is responding in this way to a growing need that reflects a new increasingly healthy and natural lifestyle.”
Perfectly attuned to the times, Azimut Yachts is responding in this way to a growing need that reflects a new increasingly healthy and natural lifestyle.
Azimut Yachts is the first shipbuilder to introduce this system on board their new models, and it follows in a long list of cutting-edge technology that the Italian yard has pioneered, including gyroscopic stabilizers and joystick maneuvering systems.
Azimut credits its success in this field to open dialogue with its clients about their needs and a forward-thinking team that is able to anticipate the future of the market.
The Azimut Magellano 25 Metri features exterior design by Ken Freivokh and interiors by Vincenzo De Cotiis. The model is a modern take on a trawler yacht, and accommodates eight guests in four cabins.
The in-production yacht follows in the footsteps of the award-winning Azimut Magellano 66, which has been described as having a similar main salon layout to a superyacht. If you are looking for this kind of design for your dream yacht, there are a number of new and used yachts for sale in this range.
