Cranchi premieres its “small giant” 20.8m Sessantasette

The flybridge yacht is based upon the yard’s flagship 25.15m (82.5ft) Settantotto model and was revealed online yesterday.

Italian shipyard Cranchi has officially revealed its latest model, the “small giant” 20.8m (67ft) Sessantasette in an online premiere.

Various members of the team involved in the design and production of the new flybridge yacht introduced viewers to the model, which inherits many design and technological concepts from its bigger sibling, and Cranchi’s flagship model, the 25.15m (82.5ft) Settantotto, launched in 2020.

Antonio Bilotta, the Project Head for the Sessantasette, explained how Cranchi had applied its expertise to implement everything on the Settantotto to the new Sessantasette, despite it being over 4m (13ft) shorter, saying Cranchi had “a range of solutions that are rare, if not unique, on a yacht of this size”.

Chief Designer, Christian Grande, was equally effusive about the amount the new model packs into its smaller frame calling the Sessantasette “a small giant” and lauding how the team behind the yacht had managed to “achieve some astonishing results in a yacht measuring just under 21 metres”.

The Sessantasette, which translates in Italian to ‘sixty seven’ - the length of the model in feet, features a number of convivial areas, most notably a large and bright living area thanks to large windows which also helps create a dining space with fantastic views. The salon is separate from the kitchen and wheelhouse by an elegant steel and glass frame.

Moving outside there is a novel living area in the bow, a spacious cockpit, a 5m (16.4ft) wide hydraulic swim platform and a tender garage with space for 3.25m (10.6ft) tender. A large open flybridge is covered by a slatted roof and provides plenty of extra space for relaxing and an elegant pilot station.

The model is available in a three-cabin or four-cabin layout. Both feature a spacious full-beam Owner’s cabin, with the three-cabin version having a private office, and two guest cabins, one in the bow and one amidships. The four-cabin version replaces the private office with an extra berth.

Performance-wise the Sessantasette sports a pair of 1,000hp Volvo Penta IPS1350 engines to give a top speed of around 30 knots.
