The 94m (308ft) superyacht VIVA, previously known as Project 817, was unveiled by Feadship today as she left its Kaag yard for the first time.
Built for a very experienced yachtsman who has chartered and owned a number of Feadship’s over the years VIVA includes a number of ambitious features and has a strong environmental focus.
An advanced hybrid propulsion system has been installed to achieve the Owner’s aim of ensuring the environmental impact of 94m (308ft) VIVA is the same as his previous Feadship, despite the fact his previous superyacht was 32m (105ft) shorter. This will allow VIVA to travel at 12 knots on diesel-electric power. A further eco-friendly feature in hybrid mode will see Tier III catalytic converters and diesel particulate filters treat all exhaust emissions.
The exterior design, courtesy of Azure Yacht Design and Naval Architecture and Studio De Voogt, features huge floor-to-ceiling windows which accentuates the open beach house-style interior by Peter Marino Architects.
The superyacht is also notable for its lack of handles, hinges and recesses. All doors in the sides of the superstructure have been fitted as electric sliding doors in keeping with the Owner’s ‘less is more’ philosophy.
2021 looks set to be another busy year for Feadship, with eight expected deliveries. The largest of these will be 95m (312ft) Project 1009 and she will take her place in Feadship's top ten superyachts by length when she is handed to her Owner. That list is currently headed by 110m (361ft) ANNA.
