Fort Lauderdale countdown officially begins

Florida gears up for the always awesome Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and an unmatched flotilla of yachts that number into the thousands.

Commonly referred to as FLIBS, the 2022 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show looks set to play host to some 1300 models, from runabouts to superyachts.

Following on from a highly successful edition in 2021 that saw the Azimut Grande Trideck, the Ocean Alexander 35R, and the Feadship Boardwalk all making their mark, 2022 looks to be equally mesmerizing.

Many yachts will be making their global or US debuts, including the Mangusta Ocean 50, which features a collaboration from well-known designer Alberto Mancini.

Covering six miles of floating docks around seven different locations there's a lot to get through during the five-day event, however, each area is clearly defined and conveniently connected through a myriad of transport options.

Highlights for participating areas include;

  1. Bahia Mar Yachting Center - Engine Tent, Marine Equipment Tent, selection of production yachts and an Electronics Tent.
  2. Pier 66 Marina - Yacht Brokerage and premium dining.
  3. Las Olas Marina - Production and brokerage yachts and some new to the market superyachts.
  4. Superyacht Village at Pier 66 South - Biggest yachts in the show and exclusive water toys area.
  5. Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center - Fishing boats, small runabouts plus nautical equipment and services.

In addition to the vibrant collection of glamourous yachts, over 1,000 exhibitors will be available throughout the show, showcasing every nautical niche you could possibly think of.

Shopping opportunities are endless, and in some cases, there are even some chances to view products in action before buying them, the Aquazone being one of those chances.

Hosted at the Broward County Convention Center, the Aquazone is a must-see attraction if you're looking to expand your collection of water toys. Demonstrations take place every day during the event and finish up one hour before the show closes.

Amid the demonstrations, you can expect to see paddleboarding, seabobs and more.
