Heesen name new Chief Commercial Officer

Friso Visser will join the Dutch shipyard to head up the sales and marketing team.

Heesen Yachts has announced former International Sales Director at Damen Shipyards Group, Friso Visser, as its new Chief Commercial Officer.

Visser will lead the sales and marketing team and take responsibility for maintaining the company’s global position as a leading Dutch yacht builder.

He brings a wealth of experience in the international maritime industry, having been with Damen for 18 years. He will be supported at Heesen by Sales Manager, and former Olympic sailor, Robert Drontmann.

“I am honored to join the team at Heesen Yachts,” he commented. “The company is a distinctive and competitive player in the market, and with its combination of full-custom and speculative production, it brings a unique approach to building the finest and most exclusive superyachts in the world. I look forward to working with such a dedicated and innovative team.”

Mark Cavendish, who has worked at Heesen for 12 years, moves from the role of Chief Commercial Officer, where he spent eight years, to become Executive Commercial Officer. He will be responsible for developing Heesen’s commercial presence in new markets and working with the brokerage community network, as well as heading up custom projects.

Arthur Brouwer, Heesen’s CEO, said: “We are delighted to welcome Friso on board at Heesen, and look forward to working together on increasing our market share and bringing our brand to new heights.”

Heesen has established itself as one of the world’s leading superyacht constructors in recent years. Its yachts are built on proven platforms which means they can be heavily customised to owner’s tastes, but still enjoy comparatively fast build times.

Our YachtBuyer intelligence reveals it currently has 13 yachts in construction from 50m (164ft) up to the 80.7m (265ft) COSMOS due for delivery in 2022. With an average build size of 55.9m (183.4ft) for these yachts, this continues the theme for the Dutch yard of building increasingly larger superyachts, the average build size of the 13 yachts it delivered from 2017 to 2020 was 51.4m (168.6ft).

With a mix of platform builds and completely bespoke projects, Heesen can suit the desires of any potential buyer. To view its extensive catalog browse all Heesen yachts for sale.
