Taking over the esteemed Port Hercule from 28 September - 1 October, the latest edition of the Monaco Yacht Show saw many new exhibits and a promising turnout of visitors.
Now firmly established as part of the overall visitor experience, the show's so-called badge system has proven a big success across the schematics of the show with nothing but positive feedback heard around the docks.
Exhibitors reported a reduction in overall footfall for the 2022 edition, however, the number of viewings for the attending yachts remained at a high level, pointing to the quality-over-quantity culture that this industry craves.
With exhibitors able to spend more time with each visitor, a calmer, more in-depth and valued experience was the outcome.
New for the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show, side attractions were largely revamped to further develop the ongoing changeover to tailor the show towards prospective yacht Owners and end users.
The Adventure Area was a brave step forward for the esteemed event as popular assets such as the Car Deck and the Tenders and Toys areas were combined to create a zone dedicated to advancing yacht packages.
Hosting an array of the latest and most innovative supercars, off-road exploration vehicles and tenders for sale, many visitors were seen throughout the divised exhibits. Although there was a little confusion over the dual citings of the zone, the change was well received.
Advancing on the ecological practices that Monaco has been known for, the Sustainability Hub and the Yacht Design & Innovation Hub both proved highly successful with a steady stream of visitors throughout the duration of the show.
Focusing on the environment and making eco-friendly adaptations to yachting lifestyles, this new attraction will almost certainly grow at a rapid rate over the next few editions with many builders discussing plans to make further implementations that consider the impact on the ecosystem.
The selection of yachts this year catered towards the larger niches of yachting, with most models being in the 30-100m+ category.
Each size range was well represented from a variety of some of the most well-known shipyards in the world including Benetti, Sunseeker, Sirena Yachts and Lurssen.
Really sparking interest around the yachts were the sheer number of genuine debuts and private yachts visitors wouldn't usually have the privilege to step onboard. The opulence of some attending yachts was truly jaw-dropping.
Now the doors have closed on the 2022 edition, the show has already swiftly moved on and started plans for the next offering.
Dates for the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show are 27-30 September 2023 and will once again be returning to the captivating Port Hercule.
