Italian yard Wally has revealed a new outboard version of its wallytender43, the wallytender43 X, adding an even faster and sportier feel to the multi-purpose tender.
The original inboard version of the 13m (42.6ft) wallytender43 tender debuted in 2020 and showcased Wally’s innovative ‘center cockpit’ design, offering the protection of a cockpit alongside the practicality of a walkaround deck.
The outboard version shares the majority of the aspects that saw the inboard version being so well received, including the center cockpit design. It also offers a modular deck configuration to suit a range of purposes and below deck there is a climate-controlled cabin. Fold-down bulwarks extend the beach club, to what Wally claims to be the “largest area in the boat’s class”
Powerwise the outboard motors of wallytender43X take things up a notch from wallytender43, which has a top speed of 36 knots with its twin Volvo 380hp engines, or 40 knots with the optional twin Volvo 440hp engines.
The wallytender43X standard propulsion package of triple 300hp Mercury Verados provides a top speed of 40 knots, or owners can get even more speed with triple 450R Mercury Verados that top out at 50 knots.
The versatile tender can be equipped as a watersports boat with ski pole, or towed behind a superyacht mothership if owner’s choose the optional towing package. It’s shallow 1.2m (3.9ft) draft means it has no problem getting close to the shoreline or into spots that might otherwise be difficult to access.
“The inboard wallytender43 was very well received last year, and we feel there is a segment of the market that will benefit from the same design elements, but with the performance of an outboard propulsion system,” comments Stefano de Vivo, Wally Managing Director. “It could be a large yacht looking for the master of versatility to add to its tenders fleet, a family in search of the ideal day boat to take them to the sandbar, or an adventurous owner looking for water sports passion. The design also suits well for a hotel shuttle, a day charter boat, or a scuba platform.”
The exclusive dark grey hue hull of the wallytender43X made its American debut at the Palm Beach International Boat Show and is set to make its European bow at the Venice Boat Show next week (29 May to 6 June).
