Wider Yachts prepare to open phase one of new facility

Wider Yachts has announced phase one of the new shipyard in Fano is on track to open in early 2023.

Declaring its building plans less than a year ago, Wider Yachts reports most of the heavy foundation work is almost complete and the first production area will be in use soon.

Situated between Fano’s fishing port and the popular tourist marina, Wider's new facility spans 18,000 sqm and aims to start up production in February 2023.

The first project to be lined up for the new facility will be the Widercat 92 from the power catamaran series, designed in collaboration with Luca Dini and Wider Centro Stile.

Designed by the local architects Alessandro Massari and Mauro Cavicchi of the Fano-based Massari Design Architecture Studio, the overall look of the new Wider facility has a contemporary feel and is set to feature a vast expanse of glazing to allow all workers abundant natural light throughout the complex.

The yacht construction process has been thoroughly considered with four large doors being integrated into the structure for seamless movements around the area.

Also wanting to maintain the increasing demand for the yachting industry to turn green, initial designs also indicate that the finished project will have solar panels and other innovations that will propose to make the facility virtually self-sufficient.
