Wider Yachts
The clue is in the name when it comes to WIDER Yachts. This Italian builder of both tenders and superyachts is all about space and opening up the experience of life at sea, proudly proclaiming, “Nothing onboard a WIDER yacht is standard”.
This ethos can be traced back to the company's first-ever tender, the WIDER 42, which took the yachting world by storm in 2010. The 13.31m (44ft) cruiser was one of the earliest examples of a transforming superyacht tender, with amidships areas that extended out to the sides at the push of a button to double the surface area. From there, the WIDER 32 followed, and at 9.6m (32ft) was smaller but equally impressive.
A range of 40m+ (131ft+) superyachts was next and followed the same principles of space and innovation. WIDER's superyachts were the first in their size range to use a diesel-electric propulsion system combined with Azimuth pods. This led to reduced fuel consumption and an extended navigation range. Moreover, the absence of a conventional engine room allowed for more spacious cabins onboard.
