Prestige Yachts History & Heritage
The Prestige brand emerged within the framework of Jeanneau, originating as the French builder's distinguished luxury motor yacht series. To grasp the Prestige narrative, one must delve into the history of Jeanneau.
In 1957, Henri Jeanneau transitioned his enthusiasm for speed from planes and cars to boats. Constructing a wooden powerboat in a modest shed in Les Herbiers, he entered it into the renowned 6-Hour Paris Race and emerged victorious.
From that pivotal moment, Henri evolved into a boat builder, giving rise to the Jeanneau name, which would ultimately become one of the world's foremost producers of owner-operated yachts.
The Prestige chapter of this journey unfolds in 1989, marking a milestone in Jeanneau's trajectory. This year witnessed the introduction of the Prestige sports cruiser. Crafted by the Italian studio Garroni, it achieved instant acclaim, with over 2500 models produced since its inception, firmly establishing Jeanneau in the luxury cruiser market.
The triumph of the Prestige range propelled it into a premium brand of its own, still under the Jeanneau group umbrella but distinctly carving its own path.
With its independent identity, Prestige has progressively expanded its portfolio, introducing larger and more opulent yachts. The design emphasis spans flybridge, sportsbridge, and sports yacht models, showcasing Prestige's commitment to evolving luxury and innovation within the maritime realm.
