Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8.62m beam and a 2.8m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 499 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Launched in May 2012 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in August 2012.
Exterior Design
2 Ladies is a 46 metre (150.9ft) displacement yacht, designed by Frank Mulder, with a layout and styling developed in collaboration with Tommaso Spadolini. The yacht sits under 500GT, but brings in features more typical of a larger vessel. The project’s philosophy was to produce a yacht with an original character that would remain contemporary for years.
The hull lines are sleek and purposeful, hinting at her capability, while the external areas have been carefully thought through to enhance the experience aboard. The sundeck is a particular highlight, home to a hydro-massage pool and spacious lounging areas. A lift rises up to the flybridge, an unusual feature for a yacht of this size, while the beach club at the stern, located beside the garage, brings guests closer to the water.
Entertainment and lifestyle facilities are well catered for, with a gym set at the bow of the main deck and fitted out with the latest Technogym equipment, alongside a sauna. Even the practicalities are well considered, such as the discreet passageway for the crew beneath the cabins, linking the crew quarters directly to the engine room.
The yacht’s running profile is clean and balanced, with a finish that speaks to the quality of its construction. Particular care was taken in technical spaces too, where high-end materials complement the working areas - etched glass in the navigation station and Kernite surfaces in the pantry and galley.
Interior Design
The interior follows a contemporary minimalist Italian style, centred around fine materials and elegant detailing. The main design feature is a grand spiral staircase, crafted from steel, ebony and travertine marble, with a glass lift at its centre. Positioned slightly aft, the staircase becomes a sculptural element visible across the decks. The travertine steps are treated for slip resistance and gently lit to avoid glare.
Ash wood dominates the interior, treated with an open-pore varnish for a natural look, while the furnishings feature glossy varnished ebony edges. Floors are finished in walnut with leather inserts, or travertine in high-traffic areas, avoiding extensive use of carpets as per the owners’ request. Leather panels and waxed leather surfaces on the furniture add texture, while Italian design houses such as Minotti, Poltrona Frau, Flos and Armani Casa provided the loose furniture.
The ceilings feature lacquered panels mixed with illuminated sections to create soft, uniform lighting throughout. A neutral palette of black, grey and white threads through the décor, balancing richness with a calming ambiance.
Technology is seamlessly integrated, with advanced domotics installed. A Kaleidoscape system offers TV on demand, multimedia servers store and manage A/V content, and Lutron control systems alongside Apple devices enhance the user experience.
The main deck saloon feels light and expansive, leading into a formal dining area. Above, the upper deck saloon opens onto the sundeck and is surrounded by large windows, allowing in floods of natural light and creating a penthouse-style atmosphere.
At the helm, located just aft of the captain’s cabin, the navigation area uses etched glass and leather to tie in with the broader design language, ensuring the technical areas are just as refined as the guest spaces.
Accommodation
2 Ladies accommodates up to 12 guests across six cabins, supported by nine crew members housed in separate quarters.
The standout feature is the presence of two full-beam master suites, one on the main deck and the other aft of the bridge on the upper deck. Both master suites share equal dimensions and quality, each with a king-size bed, a private lounge, an office area, a dressing room, and an ensuite bathroom complete with a hydro-massage tub, a separate shower with jets, and luxurious marble finishes. These suites were designed to allow each owner to use the yacht independently, ensuring parity between the spaces.
On the lower deck, there are two double cabins and two twin cabins. One twin can be converted into a third double, providing flexibility depending on the guests' needs. All cabins are finished to the same high standard as the main guest areas, featuring walnut floors with leather inserts, brushed ash panelling, glossy ebony detailing, and leather-accented walls.
The crew quarters are thoughtfully separated from the guest areas and include a passageway beneath the cabins, offering direct access to the engine room without disturbing the guests. The captain's cabin is conveniently located just aft of the bridge.
