Design & Construction
Designed around a fast displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 29'10" beam and a 7'1" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 499 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in early 2018 with the keel laid under the project name 'Project Electra'. Launched in February 2020 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2020.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of the yacht Danica, formerly known as Project Electra, features distinctive lines crafted by Omega Architects. The yacht has a slight tumblehome hull with a white hull and superstructure, complemented by a black boot top. At 50 meters in length and below 500GT, Danica is part of Heesen's hybrid series, offering silent cruising and efficient fuel consumption due to its lightweight aluminium Fast Displacement Hull Form.
The hull, designed by Van Oossanen and engineered by Heesen’s in-house team, was welded with precision at the shipyard's facility in Oss. The yacht's design supports a top speed of 17.2 knots in diesel mode and 10.2 knots in silent mode, achieved during sea trials in the North Sea.
Interior Design
Materials used throughout the vessel include dark oak flooring, subtle wooden accents, and high-quality fabrics. These elements create a welcoming and bright atmosphere, particularly in the main saloon dining area. The 65-square-meter space features a bank of windows that flood the area with natural light. The formal dining table accommodates 12 guests and is designed for both socializing and fine dining. The seating area in the main saloon leads directly to the main deck aft, ensuring easy access and convenience.
The sky lounge is intended for relaxation and unwinding, with low furnishings selected to avoid obstructing the panoramic views offered by floor-to-ceiling windows. A glass sliding door connects the sky lounge to the aft deck, creating a borderless environment between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The main deck atrium features leather-paneled walls that contrast with the dark oak flooring of the curved staircase. The floating stairs enhance the stylish design, leading through the saloon and onto the main deck. This area is both visually striking and practical, ensuring smooth transitions between different parts of the yacht.
Accommodation
The yacht Danica, built by Heesen, offers accommodation for up to 12 guests in six suites comprising an owner's cabin located on the main deck, a VIP cabin, two double cabins and two twin cabins.
The owner's full-beam stateroom is situated forward on the main deck. This suite is distinguished by its floor-to-ceiling windows on either side, which enhance the light and airy atmosphere. The stateroom features textured wooden panels and carefully selected fabrics, contributing to a serene environment. The ensuite bathroom is equipped with a generous shower that incorporates stone marble and glass, presented in a monochromatic palette.
Danica is also capable of carrying up to 9 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel-electric MTU (12V 2000 M61) 12-cylinder 805hp engines running at 2300rpm, motor yacht Danica is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 11,888 gallon fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,750 nautical miles at 12 knots.
