Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminum superstructure she features a 13.8m (45.2ft) beam and a 3.9m (12.8ft) draft. The yacht is built over five decks with an internal volume of 2,928 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in July 2014 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months, and she was delivered to her owners in November 2014.

Exterior Design

Conceived by renowned yacht designer Espen Øino, Whisper's exterior seamlessly blends elegance and power, with its elongated bow sprit lending it a distinctive silhouette. The beige exterior, accented by banks of windows along the decks and numerous portholes in the hull, invites light into the lower deck areas, while a large bank of glazing in the main deck forward enhances the sense of openness. Towards the stern, shell doors with slim vertical windows hint at the tender garages and launching platforms. A black bootstripe and a prominent strake define the waterline and main deck level, respectively, while the uncluttered side profile showcases the unobtrusive helipad on the bow.

Above the beige hull, elements of white within the superstructure create a striking contrast. The shell tops of the deck levels offer overhang and shade over the forward glazing and ensure ample shade for guest relaxation areas aft. Dominating the yacht's profile, a bold black radar mast and arch provide visual contrast, with the vertical alignment of the mast adding to the yacht's commanding aesthetic.

Side balconies on the bridge deck enhance visibility during yacht maneuvers, while an intriguing gill styling adds flair to the curvature of the sun deck side. Above, metal styling with a touch of Art Deco influence follows upward and forward-leaning angles, adding to the yacht's unique aesthetic. The second helipad is situated on the bridge deck aft.

The yacht's majestic size, measuring an impressive 95.2m (312.3ft), is well balanced by the soft hues of the exterior, making it stand out without being overpowering. The outdoor amenities are just as enticing as the interior, boasting a counter-current pool for a refreshing dip or a vigorous swim. For those seeking a unique outdoor experience, there is even an open fire pit, perfect for warming up under the stars during cooler evenings.

The owner's proud association with the Jacksonville Jaguars American football team is symbolically represented on the bow of the yacht. A 3.2-meter figure of a jaguar, its right paw confidently resting on a football helmet, is brought out on game days, adding a personal touch to the yacht's exterior design.

The Whisper is not just a yacht, it is a testament to the power of intelligent design and engineering.

Interior Design

Designed by Reymond Langton, the interior of Whisper is a testament to luxury and comfort. The interiors are an amalgamation of rich cultures and influences from around the world, with hints of Indian, Japanese, Egyptian, and glitzy Art Deco aesthetics. The palette is a warm blend of bronze, gold, and silver, creating an ambiance of refined elegance.

One of the most striking features of Whisper's interior is the piano that sits between the main deck video walls. This isn’t just any piano; it is built into a bar sculptured by the renowned London art studio Based Upon, and sits beneath an intricately wrought staircase. Above the piano hangs a stunning glass and bronze chandelier, weighing 349 kilograms, crafted by Crystal Caviar of the Czech Republic. Across from the piano, an LED-lit bar is built into a mirror-buffed table.

Roberto Lazzeroni Etienne armchairs, alongside Art Deco-inspired bar stools, and deep luxurious sofas in soft grey with black accents overlook the grand central staircase where the intricate flowing lines of the balustrade design stand out against the ever-changing screens and the light cast by the bespoke hanging light installation.

The detailing aboard the yacht is truly exquisite, with custom-designed furniture that seamlessly incorporates eclectic influences. The cohesive palette runs consistently throughout, and every inch of space has been meticulously crafted, reflecting a dedication to perfection in every aspect of design.

The yacht also houses a unique video installation consisting of 42 perfectly synced 55-inch high-definition television monitors. These electronic walls can display a range of digitized images, from computer-animated images of the leather staircase surround to videotaped beautiful anchorages from around the world.

Accommodation

A remarkable feature of Whisper is her expansive accommodation. Seven spacious cabins located on the main deck provide accommodation for up to 14 guests. Each guest cabin has a personalized color scheme with a uniquely themed door trim. The use of wood, leather, and stone are used to create individual themes with influences from Art Deco to Art Nouveau. Located on the main deck, the suites benefit from a spacious layout with multiple windows, offering far-reaching views and ample natural light.

Inspired by Coco Chanel, the owner's suite boasts Lalique lighting, floor-to-ceiling windows, a private office, and a fireplace. Complete with a private veranda, hot tub, and sun loungers, this space also offers direct access to the helipad.

The cabins feature elegant details like Porta Romana amber blob lamps paired with saffron silk shades, Murano rock lamps, Christopher Guy Givenchy boudoir chairs, and Art Deco-inspired cabinetry. Adding to the luxury of each cabin are rich ornate tapestry bed throws and doors featuring refined metal detailing.

Several cabins are equipped with full-height fireplaces offering the cozy ambiance of flickering flames while concealing large TV screens. This innovative design integrates functionality and aesthetics, ensuring a discreet and elegant solution when the TV is not in use.

A notable addition to Whisper's accommodation is the midship "sea cabin" on the lower deck. This cabin, located at the yacht’s center where motion is minimal, is ideal for guests prone to seasickness. Its proximity to the guest gym, spa, and starboard fold-down tender dock makes it a coveted space for more reasons than one.

The crew's accommodation, including cabins, a crew gym, and operational areas have also been meticulously planned to ensure a positive impact on crew retention, charter operation, and resale. The layout ensures efficient service and quick access to the necessary areas. Crew passages connect easily to stores, exteriors, and guest areas for swift and efficient service. The main deck houses the galley, strategically located to service the social areas on the main deck and the dining areas a deck above.

Performance & Capabilities

Whisper is powered by a pair of Caterpillar 3516C diesel engines, each packing an impressive 2,682 horsepower.

The engines, housed in the imposing two-storey engine room fondly referred to as the "Moran cathedral," are a testament to Lürssen’s commitment to precision and efficiency. This space is not just a hub of mechanical activity but recognizes the careful design and planning that goes into every aspect of the Whisper.

With the ability to reach considerable speeds, the Whisper is designed for performance and range in equal measures. The yacht is built to perform optimally in a variety of marine conditions, allowing for smooth and comfortable voyages no matter the distance.

One of the key aspects of the Whisper’s mechanical capabilities is its stabilizing system. Stabilizers are essential in ensuring the comfort and safety of those on board, especially when the yacht is at rest or in rough seas. Although no specific details are provided in the source material, it can be assumed that a yacht of the Whisper’s caliber would be equipped with state-of-the-art stabilizers to enhance its performance and the overall seafaring experience.

Leisure & Entertainment

The bridge deck features a beach club-inspired lounge that converts into a disco nightclub. The bar serves as a boundary for an aft deck, masquerading as a helipad during the day and transforming into a dance floor at night. The yacht's primary dining area, positioned on the upper deck, is surrounded by sliding glass screens, creating a versatile winter garden that can be open or enclosed depending on the weather.

Forward on the main deck, the mooring station is fully enclosed, providing substantial square footage above the upper deck. This space accommodates the other of the two helipads, a tented dining area, and even a basketball court. The yacht can welcome up to 270 guests while attached to shore.

To ensure the very best parties are held onboard, an etched glass walkway spans the atrium, to connect the bar with the dining room so the party remains connected between decks. Exterior stairs link the two aft decks, enhancing accessibility. In unfavorable weather conditions, sliding glass panels flanking the aft owner’s deck transform the space into a winter garden and an outdoor dining area.

The V-shaped bar, adorned with back-lit onyx featuring RGB color controls, serves as the central hub for celebrations. To kick off festivities, the aft main deck begins with a welcoming outdoor bar, creating a cohesive social loop throughout the entire area. The bridge-deck lounge, overlooking the aft helipad, and the spacious sundeck above, featuring a pool and spa pool, guarantee a grand-scale entertainment experience.

Wellness

Whisper's Spa is an oasis deep within the yacht. The Persian-inspired spa is a blend of dark stones and contrasting textures ranging from smooth flat rocks to glass and various wood surfaces. The spa provides a serene space that includes a hammam, spa pool, cold plunge pool, steam shower, and massage room alongside a separate hair and beauty salon and dedicated onboard hairdresser for guest convenience.

Concealed access points serve the dual purpose of preventing crew and visiting therapists from disturbing owner areas.

On deck, wellness, and relaxation can be found in the oval-shaped, mosaic-tiled 12m (39.3ft) pool with an integrated jacuzzi on a slightly higher platform creating a superb observation deck. There are two further spa pools onboard, one in the owner's suite, and the other in the spa. The water is warmed by a waste-heat recovery system.
