Columbus Yachts reveals cutting-edge technology behind 50m ‘Project Lady’

The new superyacht is utilizing two technological advances to ensure it fulfills the brief of her environmentally conscious owner.

Columbus Yachts has revealed the cutting-edge technology it is using in the development of its new superyacht 50m (164ft) ‘Project Lady’.

The fully custom superyacht makes use of two pioneering pieces of technology to ensure it is being built to the brief of an Owner who is ‘highly sensitive to the environment’.

The first system eliminates viruses and bacteria from the external airflow by sanitizing it through the use of cold plasma. The second system automates the sanitization of each room inside the boat at predefined intervals to ensure daily safety. This is done via a vaporization system for water mixed with sanitizing liquid inside the air ducts.

“This is an innovative, dynamic, cutting-edge project that fully reflects the essential principles of the Columbus brand”, says Giuseppe Palumbo, CEO of Palumbo Superyachts. “A process driven by the collaboration with a customer highly sensitive to environment and elegance that will make this project a new reference point on the market.”

Silhouetted renderings of Project Lady show sporty aggressive lines, with the interior and exterior being penned by Marco Casali of Too Design. The Palumbo Superyachts team and Hydrotec are responsible for the engineering of her aluminum hull and superstructure.

Along with her eco-friendly innovations she also has all the trappings associated with a luxury superyacht including a touch-and-go helipad, a large swimming pool and voluminous outdoor spaces across her four decks.

The 499GRT yacht is expected to be delivered in 2022.
