Benetti has launched its latest luxury yacht, 48m (157.5ft) motor yacht HAWA, whose prominent ‘desert sand’ hull and elegant external lines touched the water for the first time at the Benetti shipyard in Livorno last week.
Built for a loyal Benetti customer, the full custom yacht is a collaboration between Benetti and the English studio RWD who are responsible for her interior and exterior design. Featuring what the yard calls an ‘original layout’ the 498 GT yacht can accommodate ten guests across five cabins.
Her bright and airy main deck exemplifies the unusual layout with a pantry and large VIP cabin located towards bow, instead of the traditional galley. Here the lounge also has five openings to the outside in keeping with another of the Owner’s requests, continuous contact with the environment.
This natural connection can also be felt on the Lower Deck, with two side-opening platforms from the beach area that overlook the sea. The Owner’s influence can be felt on the beach club interior with an area dedicated to equipment for fishing and diving, two of their great passions.
Highlights of the Upper Deck include a bright skylounge, with two large opening side windows, that features a pantry and a complete gym, whilst the Sun Deck is home to a dining space for 12 people, cinema area, bar and plenty of relaxation spaces.
Twin MTU engines give HAWA a maximum speed of 15.5knots and a range of 4,000nm at a cruising speed of 10 knots.
The launch of HAWA follows fast in the wake of 65m motor yacht ZAZOU making a splash in Livorno on 22 April.
