Amels’ largest ever superyacht, the fully custom Amels 78 GALINNA, has been unveiled in full for the first time since she arrived at the Amels and Damen Yachting facilities in 2020.
The 78m (255ft) superyacht is the Dutch builder’s largest superyacht to date in terms of volume, boasting a 2,885GT interior and usurping the 2,827GT ‘Here Comes the Sun’ as the yard’s most voluminous superyacht.
Onlookers were given a look at the stunning Espen Øino design, as the superyacht was seen outside of Amels and Damen Yachting’s Vlissingen City yard for the first time since arriving there for outfitting in January 2020. She is now set to spend the next few weeks quayside at the yard undergoing a series of sea trials.
Amels and Damen Yachting Project Manager Daan Langezaal, is eagerly anticipating the next stage of the project: “Seeing her in the open air and daylight is a real reminder of her size and presence but also highlights her design and how it has been worked to carry her form beautifully” he said.
“The entire team at Amels and Damen Yachting is incredibly proud to have reached this latest milestone, something we could not have managed without the great cooperation of the Owner’s team all our co-makers. We are now looking forward to the next phase and getting her out on the water for the sea trials.”
GALINNA was announced at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2017 and touched the water for the first time in December 2019. She then moved to the Vlissingen City shipyard to begin outfitting in January 2020, where she was floated in her dry dock in a private event in May of this year.
Details of the superyacht are still sparse, but we do know accommodation will be offered for 14 guests across seven suites and she will feature an expansive open-top deck with a large aft-pool and wide sun decks that can be used as private guest balconies. She is expected to be delivered to her Owner in 2022.
As a full-custom yacht GALINNA is a departure from Amels' Limited Edition range, a semi-custom built series with a blend of custom and platform build techniques, that reduces delivery times significantly.
