After four years in construction, the Middle-Eastern builder’s flagship yacht hit the water to successfully complete her maiden sea trials, reaching a top speed of 17 knots.
Powered by twin MTU engines, Majesty 175 can cruise through low draft areas, despite her vast size, as she is built using advanced composite materials such as carbon fiber and vinylester. She draws just over 2.25m (7 feet) of water.
Captain Patricia Caswell, Gulf Craft’s Quality Control Manager, who was at the helm during Majesty 175’s maiden sea trial, was pleased with how the sea trials went: “We are excited to have taken this beauty out to sea,” she said. “She has performed brilliantly on her first sea trial covering multiple factors, including the engines at full speed, the pair of generators, and fin stabilisers as well as the navigation and telecommunication systems. Preliminary noise and vibration levels are outstanding, and these will continue to improve when the entire interior elements are completed.”
First announced at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2016, Majesty 175’s exterior and interior design come from from the pen of the award-winning Cristiano Gatto Design Studio in Italy, whilst the naval architecture is by the Yankee Delta Studio.
She provides accommodation for 14 guests in seven spacious staterooms, whilst there are also six large crew cabins and private accommodation for the Captain. Standout features of the superyacht include a 5m infinity pool at the forward deck and a hybrid sky-lounge that can also be converted into an open sun deck.
Majesty 175 is the largest of the 92 yachts Gulf Craft have delivered since 1997, taking the mantle from 2015 superyacht ‘My Escape’, which was the previous record holder at 47.24m. Gulf Craft look set for a busy year in 2021 with a further five superyachts set to be delivered.
Designer Cristiano Gatto Design Studio has also been involved in some notable projects, having been responsible for the interior design on Yachtley’s 80m superyacht ELEMENTS and Icon Yachts 62.5m ‘Party Girl’. They are regular collaborators with ISA Yachts and Astondoa in particular, having worked on a total of 27 projects with the two shipyards.
The 175 is part of Gulf Craft’s Majesty range which comprises a number of models that vary in size, the smallest is 15m in length, but all share the same build quality and design philosophy.
